we had to do a layout assignment for one of my journalism classes. No rules except it had to be non-fiction and all text, pictures, captions, layout, etc had to be done by us. it's about 11x17" here's how mine turned out   | |

The snow looks lovely. We got a nice dump in Victoria over night, but I can't wait to be back in the Okanagan for Christmas and some nice powder

^those sizes are fine.
basically keep the sizes under 800x600 so they fit in one screen frame. just so you dont have to scroll around to see the whole picture.
