DOES. FUCKING. MATTER. And you just proved why. Kony and the LRA have not been causing problems in Northern Uganda for 6 years or more. The video that is going viral is chalk full of holes and misconceptions and blatantly misleads its viewers by making them think a war is going on. It's bullshit that's just lining the pockets of the 'charity' whose financials are questionable. You're praising the spread of lies and saying it's good that people are becoming "aware" while proving you don't even know what you're arguing. Good job.
whats ur source? is it one of those websites thats anti this video? how are those more credible than this video? how do people know about the financials of anyone? im not on the side of this video nor its critics - im merely curious is all Posted via RS Mobile

The people that are questioning the legitimacy of the organization and the facts are the people who are not asking "what's your source" They're the ones, after watching the video, do their own research and read about the organization, the situation and Joseph Kony himself.
The monkeys that click "like" or "share" are the same people that get roped into the same bs any propaganda machine throws at them because they're too lazy to do their research.

A little quick to judge saying that I don't know what I am talking about.
This has nothing to do about hopping on some bandwagon. You watch the video and you actually felt something for these kids. That part of you which is human that tells you NO person deserves to live this way. It's easy.. so so easy to just sit behind your PC monitor and say, "that's awful", then move on with your life; so easy to make a mockery of things when you have a nice house to live in, people who care about you, your laptop, Xbox, and don't gotta worry about whether you're going to die the next day.
You think I don't got my own problems to deal with over here to? Everybody's got fucking problems. It's when people take a moment to give a damn that makes a difference, instead of making stupid memes about 'how you've always been a social activist.' That time could have been put to something a little more worth while IMO.
The worlds not getting any worse then it was 100 or even a 1000 years ago. But living in the world we do today, where all it takes is something like social media (a few clicks of a mouse) to make a difference in the world.. I say that's something pretty damn significant...
enjoy your cozy bed..

Just posted a severely annotated version of the Kony questioners in this thread on a friend's Facebook post, plus mentioning that the rest of Africa has problems, and one of his lemming friends goes and replies to me with "Gota (sic) start somwhere (sic)".

and for those wondering
he's basically the character that Nicolas Cage was dealing with through the movie (a character said to be about charles taylor)

where are they doing the research? could it be they are going to a source such as a website to do this research? i asked a simple question which u didnt answer, dont go all fight club on me for no reason Posted via RS Mobile
Coles notes: Kony is on his last legs, and isn't even in Uganda anymore. In fact, the Ugandans aren't even allowed to attack/pursue him in the countries that he is actually in. Uganda also has a horribly bad gov't, which is as much of a problem as Kony is/was. As far as IC goes, their finances are appalling and if you *truly* want to help in Uganda/Africa, there are many charities that are significantly more deserving of your money and support.

Uganda does have oil, their production recently jumped dramatically. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if one of the reasons IC won't fully open it;'s financials is because they get funding from some oil group.

My personal research was based on a variety of sources on the web but also my own intuition. I already knew much of the history of Uganda and I know the direction Uganda is heading for right now. Based on that, I was able to come to the conclusion that this was more or less a media hype than anything else.
Also, since this is an official non-profit organization, their finances are all public. Based on the finances reported, I was able to my make opinion on how much relief effort this organization was ACTUALLY providing and how much of it was merely profit.
Hope that answers your question, at least in part.
On a side note, about 98% of my Facebook Kony followers are also Whitney Houston mourners. Those who "loved and always cared for Whitney."
