I like that this is a condition brought on by "extreme exhaustion and dehydration." This is why at the end of the Boston Marathon, many of the runners drop their shorts and jerk off in victory.
Same as no one remembering WMD which is the same thing they are trying to do with Africa. By creating a boogeyman who they could never find and use as an excuse to ravage country after country.
It has already been covered. Ben Keesy pays himself and other members of his organization salaries many times higher than the industry averages. If you read back through the thread, you'll see that the directors/editors of the film are being paid double the industry average wages.
Working based on percentages,
Red Cross; CEO salary, $995,718; Percent of total expenses, 0.02%.
Invisible Children; CEO salary, $88,241; Percent of total expenses, 0.99%.
I also disagree that many people do not want to do this work, many people do, but they choose not to because they would normally need to accept very low wages to do so on a full time basis.
Didn't know about the directors/editors but you can't deny the success of their video.
As for the percentages.. Who cares what the percentage is? People are pissed that he's making $90,000. Not that it's almost 1% of the total expenses. They are all upset, thinking more of that money should be put towards the cause. If people knew how much the Red Cross CEO's salary was there would be a huge outrage over it.
I understand that doing non-profit work is actually a lot of work so I'm not complaining. I was saying I don't understand why people are making a big fuss about the salary when its part of running a business.
You also just proved my point. Lots of people WANT to but won't unless they get paid above average wages (because it really is more work/stressful). I think we're on the same page, you might have misinterpreted my original post..

Because people are finally realizing Invisible Children and the idiots that run it are nothing but douchebags and scam artists. Take it from someone who has been on the ground as a private security contractor providing actual help to locals, these guys do virtually nothing for the continent of Africa, just lining their own pockets.

A good family friends family has been managing a mill in the Congo for the last 6 years, the whole family has been there numerous times and my buddies have pictures in the -slums- there that national geographic doesn't have
