what's the reason for you guys saving money?

i know you guys work hard for your money and you wanna save up for the future down the road. But gosh, this takes so much discipline. lol

I'd rather spend all the money i make and not have a dime $0 cause i value life experiences > security. Points of view?

Life experience check box:

Lose big at Casino [X]
File for Bankruptcy [X]
Ask everyone what I should do and be 100% un original [X]
Teach kids my ways [ _ ]
Die at 38 [ _ ]

freakshow 02-21-2013 03:24 PM

You're assuming you can't do both.. I consider myself to have had plenty of great life experiences with family, friends, and cars, but I still save up and plan for the future.

Also, a lot of experiences, dare I say the most meaning full ones, require restraint.
Eg. you restrain yourself in practicing an instrument for hours a day, but only so that you can experience the richer freedom of musical creativity.
you restrain yourself in a monogamous relationship, but only so that you can experience a rich fulfilling relationship
you restrain yourself from being promiscuous with your time and money so that you can experience the deeper freedom of a family and a future..

.. why did i write so much.....

bet it all on black! YOLO!

murd0c 02-21-2013 03:25 PM

So I can live in a one bedroom apartment and have lots of kids :)

Matlock 02-21-2013 03:26 PM

I rather save up for a home and have my own pot to piss in rather than pay rent forever.

Alby 02-21-2013 03:26 PM

so i can survive tomorrow.

I'm going to laugh my ass off if your parents stop helping you out and leave nothing as an inheritance besides a can of sardines and a note that says "Life experience #1"

RRxtar 02-21-2013 04:42 PM

RS should put a rule in place where trolls are only allowed to post one troll thread per week.

MG1 02-21-2013 05:08 PM

Stop tithing to the church and start a "rainy day" savings account.

Or, start a cult/religion and take everyone else's 10%.

Stupid answer to a stupid question.......... what can I say?

Didn't even address the question in the thread title, LOL.

I honestly don't think he's a troll....he's just so sadly oblivious that it's not even funny.

Honestly though, you're wasting the internet so for anymore questions please use on of the following:

1) Kids Help Phone (1-800-668-6868) is Canada's only free, national, bilingual, confidential and anonymous, 24-hour telephone and online counselling service for children. Your lack of knowledge, experience and common sense would put you at about child's level so don't hesitate to call.

2) If you go to Shaw's webpage, and click on tech. support, you will have an option to chat with a live person. These people are there to help you with tech problems but I'm sure you could try your luck at asking them questions about your life's problems and woes.

Best of luck man!

They key to saving is make it auto. I set up through my online banking that every 2 weeks it will take say $500 for savings, $400 for RRSRP $400 aside to another acct for egergency funds $1000 goes to mortatge.....

That one once you get paid you don't even see the money since it already got deposit into different acct so you can use what's left.

Holy shit, not many people here make 60k after tax just for savings/mortgage...especially not with money left over to feed themselves!

But I definitely agree, auto movement of funds helps huge.

dinosaur 02-21-2013 06:30 PM

I set it on fire to keep me warm at night.

Lets home they don't turn $5 bills into coins because this shit is gettin' spendy.

I agree to a certain extent until you have to save for survival and living on your own. Do you really want to rent or live with your parents for the rest of your life? People save to get what they want in life.

But yes, I do agree. I rather enjoy my life to the fullest at one point, then commit to something, save, and realized i lost a good part of my youth.

I know I'm not gonna get shit from mine... why the fuck are other's unfortunates so funny to you? You were raised with everything handed to you and expect a stash of cash at your parents death bed?

Purely 02-21-2013 06:53 PM

It feels good looking at those digits in your bank account...

Energy 02-21-2013 06:53 PM

How about you save money first and then experience life after?

Work hard, get some job and financial security. Then get that Ferrari or take vacations around the world and all that.
