It's worth it only if you bring a few jerry cans along. I can get gas in Abbotsford/Mission almost as cheap as US. Superstore 7¢ off/litre for using PC Mastercard. $1.15 minus 7 = $1.08 / litre.

Today,
Sumas ($3.29/gal)
Blaine ($3.37)
I got gas at Bellingham Costco this afternoon at $3.14.

Use following to figure out how much you are saving - including exchange rate

Online Calculator Converting the cost Cents Per Litre to dollars per gallon of gasoline in Canada and USA

My commuter car has a small gas tank. It's not worth going down to save a few bucks, but take a few jerry cans and it's still worth it.

I have a friend that fills his xterra and brings back 4 jerry cans. The most I ever bring back is 3 because I don't have any more jerry cans.

At most I Will bring back 4 jerry cans which is 100 litres.

The one odd time I got tax with 4 jerry cans so I reduced it to 2 and slowly brought it back up to 4.

latest border run with RBC mastercard/exchange:

SHELL OIL BLAINE WA
52.00 USD @ 1.1350 59.02

still saving on average $20 minimum on premium fillups.

so... where is best value for 'jerry cans'? say 20-25L cans... also, I believe the regulations state that the cans MUST be secured and not stowed away in trunk? what are the rules?

I usually have 2 boxes that found at costco for free and 2 Jerry Cans sit inside each boxes thus ensuring the jerry cans not tilting to the side etc... pretty much holds it in place

FYI: Costco won't allow people to fill up the larger size jerry cans anymore (I forget which size the cut off starts at), state law prohibiting it. But other gas stations don't enforce it.

My exchange rate on the Amazon Visa was 1.11 the last time I went to fill up.

Sounds a lot like gas prices. When oil is down they say "it can take months to see the price change" and when it goes up it's more expensive the next day.

Border Guards ask the strangest questions. "You went to casino? Where's your wife?" WTF?

Picked up a set of rims from 24/7 parcel, came in two large boxes. Total cost to pick up was 10 dollars USD

If I were to ship it to Point Roberts, would of costed $16 USD, possibly more.

Got booked for a 12 pack and 1 bottle of win ($23) for taxes and duties.

12 pack was 15.99 + $15 tax
1 bottle of wine was 6.99 + $9 tax

Was going to get taxed sooner or later I guess, not complaining/whining but I thought i'd let you guys get a feeler of their taxes/duties.

Were you travelling by yourself when you got taxed?

I got dinged few weeks ago when I went down to pick up my exhaust. Hit or miss, I guess. Some of my friends didn't get dinged when bringing their exhaust back.

Do you guys still buy stuff frequently considering the exchange rate is quite terrible

Seems I only get taxed if I'm over $300 (going over for a couple of hours). It is hit or miss depending on who you get.

I'm still buying stuff somewhat frequently. The difference in exchange rate between now and a few months ago is only about 6%. I usually don't buy something unless I'm saving at least 20% over buying it here. That, plus most of the time, you're not paying sales tax on stuff, that's another 14% savings. Makes it still worthwhile even at the current not so great exchange rates.
