@BrandonPrust8: I am very excited to be apart of another great organization. Can't wait to bring a Stanley Cup to ANOTHER CITY WHEN I GET TRADED AT THE DEADLINE! See u soon
Let me know if I am missing something, but next year's line will look something like this.
Sedin/Sedin/Vrbata
Burrows/Bonino/Higgins
Kenis/Horvat/Hansen
Dorsett or Proust/Gaunce?/Baertschi or Shinkaruk
Back end it is
Hamhuis/Bartkowski?
Edler/Tanev
Sbisa/Weber/Fedun/Corrado/Clendening/Stanton/Biega
And Miller/Markstrom

I'm still hoping for a Higgins trade.
Baertschi would be useless in the fourth line. Guy needs to be in the top 6.
It's gonna be an interesting trade deadling and draft next year for sure.
Trade Higgins (2.5 mill), Burrows (4.5 mill) and Hamhuis (4.5 mill) and we free up 11.5 mill in cap space on top of the 4.8 mill we have now.
Bring up Baertschi and Kenins to replace Higgins and Burrows
Hamhuis can be replaced with someone on the roster (Edler, Clendening, Weber, Tanev, Sbisa, Bartkowski, Corrado) or a UFA
I'm hoping Higgins is sent out of town guy has been always useless second half of the season every year!
Also don't forget Grenier will probably get a good look this year which I'm really hoping so! He's a big body has put up points in the AHL and deserves a shot...just think maybe he is suppose to be what Kassian was suppose to be!
July 1, 2015: Zack Kassian + 5th round pick in 2016 draft for Brandon Prust
June 30, 2015: Kevin Bieksa for 2nd round pick in 2016 draft
June 27, 2015: Eddie Lack for Guillaume Brisebois (66th pick, 2015 draft) + 7th rounder in 2016
Mar 2, 2015: Rasmus Andersson (53rd pick, 2015 draft) for Sven Baertschi
The Kassian trade as I mentioned earlier this morning is mind boggling. Sure he may have a tennis ball sized lump on his back at times but his potential is there and everyone has seen his soft hands and vision. You just don't teach that. Prust is an aging 31 year old with an expiring contract. He's sure as gone at the deadline for picks. Brandon has a good sense of humour though, tweeting about winning a Stanley Cup with his new team. I think he's talking about the new team he's going to play for after the 2016 trade deadline. Trade assessment: C
Bieksa for a 2nd rounder is a great deal, if it was 2015. Some say 2016 will be a deep draft if not deeper than 2015 but the verdict is still out on that one. Benning's job is to rebuild on the fly and do it quickly. He missed out on the opportunity to get a 2nd rounder this year when he was too busy chit chatting with Doug Wilson who turned his back on JB. Trade assessment: C+
Lack deal is beyond underwhelming. To say that Eastern teams don't pay too much attention to players on the West is total BS. JB's job is to market and show our players as a commodity and not a POS. The organization never liked Lack from the start and it shows in the bargaining table when they failed to negotiate much from the deal. Lack has worked hard this off season and from what I'm hearing from Kevin Woodley, he's going to be even stronger next year and his vision will improve with a new neck technique. JB says Brisbebois is going to become a top-4 defenseman on TSN1040 but it won't be until 4-5 years from now until we see him on the roster, if he makes it to the show. Trade assessment: F
Sven Baerstchi deal looked like a steal when the trade happen. Verdict is still out on that one whether Sven turns out to be a top-6 forward. Hard to tell but might take another year or two but it won't be long until we know. Trade assessment: B

imo your assesment of both lack and kassian are a bit too high. but most people do this with players from the team they like. kassian is a bonehead player far too often, who doesnt put the effort in, not a good combination. the negatives far outweigh any potential. lack while interesting and a fan favourite is not a sure fire starter, he over commits a lot and seems to have some luongoish issues when getting down early. that klingberg goal in ot really made me doubt his reaction ability and puck following ability
I was hoping for an early 2nd for Lack, we got an early 3rd and a 7th. If it wasn't going to be an early 2nd, the best we could hope for is a 2nd next year or an early 3rd this year because it was primarily non-playoff teams that were in the market. A 1st for a pending UFA goaltender with question marks was never going to happen.
Baertschi deal is 100% an A. How many late-2nds even have a shot at the NHL? There are the gems like Subban and Weber but they're extremely rare.
