He also has more money than the Aquilini's. He can afford to tank.

Anyone else surprised Franson hasn't signed?

Would you like to see him as a Canuck?

2nd Overall NHL Draft Picks

hard to fuck up a 2nd overall lol
besides Nedved, 2/3 of the time Canucks drafted 2nd overall they became franchise players.

starting next year the worst they can do is 4th overall.

"Beginning in 2016, the Draft Lottery will be utilized to assign the top three drafting slots in the NHL Draft, an expansion over previous years when the Draft Lottery was used to determine the winner of the first overall selection only.

Three draws will be held: the 1st Lottery draw will determine the Club selecting first overall, the 2nd Lottery draw will determine the Club selecting second overall and the 3rd Lottery draw will determine the club selecting third overall.

As a result of this change, the team earning the fewest points during the regular season will no longer be guaranteed, at worst, the second overall pick. That club could fall as low as fourth overall."

And with the Canucks luck (& Bettman running interference), we will get 4th overall pick if we end up in last place.

Tons of teams could use him, but I think it's a case of him/agent asking for way too much.

8 year - $60M for Tarasenko

Franson will probably sign with the Leafs.

Primeau, Sydor, Jagr, Hatcher, Tkachuk, Brodeur (20th pick!), Potvin, Weight, Zubov, Bondra (156!)

I know hindsight is 20/20 but it's fun to imagine how different this team could've been if we had a HOF lifer as our starting goalie

In this city? They'd find a way to run him out of town anyways.

The Sedins are going to be in the Hall one day and we've been blessed to watch them in their prime for almost a decade. But we still bitch and whine about them every year.

I hope benning finds a centre. Our 4C is going to suck with Vey in it.

Actually... any spot Vey goes will probably suck. Lets hope his workout program helps this offseason.

Taresenko signs 8 year 7.5 mil cap hit deal with Blues. Good on the Blues for getting him locked up long term.

Lol sedins in the hall? Based on what? Numbers will be retired sure, but Luongo has about a good of a shot if not better than sedins making it in to the hall.

Twins who both won the Art Ross will almost certainly get in the HoF...

I don't think they deserve the HoF just based on one scoring title and one MVP each. That's just not enough...or it shouldn't be. If they get in, it'll be because of the uniqueness of a pair of awesome hockey playing creepy ginger twins but their stats wouldn't get them in otherwise unless they win a Cup.

They'll have their numbers retired for sure, as will Luongo in time but HoF? Nah. Lu will have HoF creds by the end of his career though. He'll be top 3-5 in just about every category...except...Stanley Cups

I said it was because they were twins who each won the scoring title. I didn't list a bunch of reasons other than the fact that they're twins. Like it or not, the fact that twin brothers won the Art Ross in back to back seasons will likely be enough IMO.

Are there even any players in the HHOF that are in, but haven't won a cup?
