some of my favs:
- AE101/111 4AGE 20v motor
- Subaru boxer engines
- CTR/ITR engines
- F355
- a ball-bearing turbo equipped vehicle (makes that 'hissing' noise)
- FIA rally cars
- also turbo vehicles equipped w/ either SS BOVs or those crazy JDM BOVs that have a "fluttering" noise.

DeTomaso Pantera. 351C powered, mid engine with short pipes and glasspacks. That car sounded mean at an idle, and plain evil at WOT.
Any Ferrari, but especially the V12s. Small displacement, high CR pistons revving at 6-8500 rpm, usually through short pipes due to mid engine design sound awesome as they pass. Watch a 360 modena challenge at an F1 race one day and you'll know what I mean.
supercharged VTEC. The sound of a little twin cam combined with the whine of a blower makes little girls run away in fear. A cross between a rabid bumblebee, and a buzzsaw, it's a symphony.
Supra TT. What more can be said about 2 turbos. If only I could find one for less than $20g.
Subaru Boxer. All the sound of a Harley, without the bugs in your teeth, and the stigma of being labelled a dirty biker. Like a Harley, you can throw your bitch on the back and ride into the sunset, sliding sideways at 80k down a dirt road |

TL's at 4k rpm and over.
Superchargers. and V8's
Aston Martin DB9 sounds super nice.
BMW M5
Definately F1 engines.
I would say turbo Subaru's but their sounds come from their exhausts, so that doesn't count.
There are so many..
Can't really get the from just the top of my head. Will take a while to dig them out.

IMO the zonda sounds way better than the ferraris, and F1 sounds are getting kind of boring and don't tickle the hairs on the back of my neck anymore,

F-4 phantom at full throttle.
Definately NOT the best jet by any means, it's ugly, shitty handling, poor weapons loadout, but it has the LOUDEST, MEANEST jet engines ever put on a fighter jet. This video does not do it justice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McPOocO1FT8 |
