Lmao. Thats funny shit. |
I finally sold my Rabbit, there's nothing like the feeling of 10 brand new $100 Bills with sequencial serial numbers :D |
blah.. this is alot of rain..feels like i'm living in vancouver again.. but so good for our dried out lakes, and makes for some fun mud bogging the truck hehe |
hey which manual do you guys think is better, haynes or chilton (might have spelt that wrong)? |
haynes blows ass. i was reading up how to remove a transmission and it was basically 1) remove bolts 2) pull transmission |
Hard to say i got both for my car but the Chilton one covers more years than the Haynes does but yeah hard to say it was the Haynes that saved my butt when i couldn't find the starter and was stranded in the middle of no where but then again i never gave the Chilton a chance at that point. But i'm guessing most people are gonna say Haynes cause it's been around longer i think and is usually the standard. Having said that my dad told me to get both so who the fuck knows get em both. :lol |
umm, the point of asking was so i wouldn't have to get both......just wondering what other people's experiences were. Would haynes be better for someone with less mechanical knowledge? |
yes |
get a helms |

Helms manuals are THE SHIT! nicely detailed illustrations instead of crappy black & white photographs. i have one for my Integra and it's over 1400 pages, not including the (somewhat useless) supplement manual for the 2000 model year. maybe a bit excessive, but it even explains how to apply the Special Edition/DOHC VTEC badge (why it would even need explaining, i don't know, but they explain it). edit: i should point out that the Helms, for both books, was about $150 by the time it got here though, after the exchange rate and shipping. without the silly supplement manual it woulda been more like $100 though. a bit more than a $24.95 Chilton manual, if that's a factor. but well worth the money! |
nevermind. |
yeah, that is kind of a factor. I get the books at cost through my work now but they only have Chilton or Haynes. |

usually up north means in the same province, so like fort nelson. So many of my friends have already gone up there, good money but cost of living is higher. Blaupunkt is doing the heavy mechanics course this year, hopefully he doesn't move up north, awesome money, but too far away :(. |
As seen in another post. Quote:
I HAVE stuck up for you in the past. In fact, I seem to remember being the FIRST mod to back you up when you came crashing in here. Since then you've distinguished yourself by flinging shit around anytime somebody posts anything relating to you. The irony of flaming about flaming stopped being funny a long time ago. If you don't have anything interesting, constructive, informative, or funny to say, do what most of us do and read rather than post. Stop blaming the immaturity of others for your problems and fix them at the source. |
