i'd like to, but its so hard to plan ahead. i don't know where i'm gonna be/what i'm gonna be doing in seven years time. but if i'm still here in vancouver and all is well - then for sure, i'd volunteer

Speaking of the topic of whether it's hard to get into voluteering at a large international sports event......I think it might not be as hard as you think.
I have a friend who volunteered at the games for the 2002 World Cup in Japan. She got to watch some games too.....hehe

there was another huge event like this, can't remember what.. but so many people wanted to volunteer, that the volunteers had to PAY...
why do you want to volunteer?
if it's because you just want to get in for free or have a good view, then okay at least you're being honest.
but there are a lot of people out there that say they want to volunteer for this "to do their part" or something which is bs, because these people are rarely the ones that volunteer their time elsewhere.

i heard those volunteering at opening/closingn ceremony (set-up/decorating) are forced to leave when it starts so they cant see it for free lol
