but if you watch at the end of the new opening when you see orichamaru jairaya and a girl..thats tsuande she will be the 5th

the way it works is that the next hokage of the leaf village is chosen by the current hokage and the two other members of the restricted council...seems to work this way with other villages too ie with sand since they also have 2 other members by the kazekage

in the case of the leaf...the hokage is generally the strongest person or best leader in the village...after the fourth died...there really wasnt anyone stronger or more suited for the job than the third in the leaf and thats why he became the hokage again

Remember that anime is actually produced to push the manga. Comics/manga is huge in japan, everyone in all ages read comics so the industry is much larger and more different than it is in North America.

Usually, when an anime series ends, it pretty much forces the viewer to go and pick up the manga to read what's gonna happend next.

the anime will never catch up to the manga.... the manga is at volume 23 now..... the anime is showing things that happened in volume 12... by the time the anime hits ep 100, the manga will be at like volume 40 or something @_@
