Just wondering what cameras (gear) you guys using? I use Canon XTi and 17-85mm as a daily lens. Soon planning on upgrading too Canon 50D...

^ some great pictures of some hot cars! I really like that 2nd pic of the amg!

I'm using an xti too. Use mostly the sigma 10-20 and the sigma 17-70 2.8-4.5. I'm cheap when it comes to photo gear, what can I say? :P

Two different edits, looking for a old photo feel

that car is a beauty

The first 2 edits have a great old feel to them, but the house has too many modern touches to make it believable. LOVE those cars sooooo much, he really went all out on the James Dean replica.

Glad they work, I agree, the house has to many modern touches. Can't do anything about that though

Levitron 11-05-2008 10:28 PM

You got the edits right, Tom, but like the other guy said....the house takes away from that awesome editing.

Mananetwork 11-05-2008 10:42 PM

How's this one? I've never tried destroying an image

not feeling the normal edits/colors lol. i like the desaturated/faded look more as it's more well suited for the car as your original intentions

no comments on my cell pic? >:| lol

I was just about to. What cell phone are you using? The picture came out amazing especially for a cell phone picture. I honestly think it's one of your better automotive related shots

TOPEC 11-06-2008 02:15 AM

Jacky, were you using a tripod?

The second shot looks a bit blurry.

Biggest tip, make sure your car is clean before shooting it! :D

Your subbie is looking good though. So jealous...

Kev

ColinK 11-06-2008 10:42 AM

I'm sure he was using a tripod. The first image is a 30 second exposure, and the second is a 13 second exposure. I think the focus was just off.

The whitebalance seems to be off in the first image. Also, try to shoot with the light (like pic 2) rather than against it like you did in pic 1
