whats ASE? I use the in game browser, I'm guessing that one sucks

ASE is All Seeing Eye which is a program that you use to monitor servers for games such as CS, BF2 etc.

You open up ASE, double click on the server and then BF2 starts up and you'll be loading up that server. It also has a friends list which comes in handy

has anyone gotten the knife and pistol badge yet? i think i just gonna run around with a knife hahahaha maybe i even get the purple heart at the same time. lol

A good way to knife people is figure out how to dive at their feet. For some reason there seems to be some reach advantage.

Pistols, aim for the head.

i have the knife and pistol badge.

i have the veterans support badge. just got it yesterday.

badges and ribbons are so much easier to get now

You have to wait till the next version of it comes out because the one that is out right now doesn't work with the newly patched BF2 :(

this was back then when it was "hard" i duno now though.. might be easier

pistol and knife.. u have to kill like 7.. or 9.. or was it 10? people in one round with just that weapon..

so pistol 7-10 people in one round. same as knife.

for veteran support badge. im GUESSING, you need the support badge (again 7-10 kills in one round with the support class).. then XXXX amount of hours with support class, and probably X amount of points accumulated with support class..
yes.. support class is basically all i play so yeah :p

but anti tank is awsome now. i love it

My tip: You can get underneath a tank (or some vehicles) without getting killed. Sometimes if you run out of places to hide when you are sneaking up on a tank with your C4's, this may be a good alternative.

^ nice, i'm gonna try that tank trick later. i read somewhere that you can get ase to work by modifying the command line, namely putting in your username and password, but i forgot where i saw it :D

"In the filters list pane (where it says Battlefield 2, Friendly Fire, Maps, etc), right click Battlefield 2 and click Custom Config...

Then edit the line that says Cmd Line to add the +username [your user name here] +playerPassword [your password here] to that line. Minus the brackets of course. So it should look something like:

"c:\games\BF2\bf2.exe" +menu 1 +username nubfacelol +playerPassword imanub

mind the quotes, those are important."

Hmm BF2 won't run on my main system.. it just crashes without an error after starting the EXE.

maybe you have a high refresh rate. set it back to 60Hz and try that.

OR

go to C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Settings
and open videodefault.con with wordpad.

there should be a setting under renderer.allowALLRefreshRates 0.

change the 0 to a 1.

does this work? everytime i go underneath a tank or apc i get run over and die when it moves.

heh i just wanted to try crawling under that dude, besides, he couldn't hit me with his turret as i was crawling towards him.

do you guys notice that mines sometimes don't kill right away when you pop them on enemies? i remember in dc when it was easier as eng to take out tanks with mines.
