That's the part I can understand! A 12.5 sec P5 would be very nice indeed! |
Just bought a complete gearbox and LSD assembly out of a stolen/vandalized 2003.5 MSP from Import Auto Recyclers in Abbotsford. :D |
that's cool :D when will you get it done man? :) |

I'm thinking about a clutch upgrade (since I'll be ripping out my tranny) and I'm wondering what others experiences have been with aftermarket clutches. As most of you know, I mainly autocross with my car, but I did participate in the Alberni drags this summer, so I shouldn't rule out the occasional drag race in the future. Just looking for comments/suggestions/recommendations. |

So far I have found 3 applications that will go in my car. Spec - Stage II+ ACT - Z66-HDSS Clutch Masters - FX100 (Stage I) Centerforce may also have one but I haven't been able to confirm it yet. So anyone got any input on these from personal experiences? |
Got this message back from Centerforce... Hello Mark, Thanks for the e-mail. Now we do not have anything for your 2003 Protégé, probably the 1st quarter of next year. my buddy has a stage 3 in his mazdaspeed, send him a PM his nick is PHRISCO |
go with the ACT, i love mine, and i have yet to hear a bad thing about them. |
Yeah I have Spec stage 3 and Spec Flywheel. Great clutch really light pedal, I love it! If you're in Vic when I'm over there you can try it out, after my car is back on the road of course. BTW if you aren't going to run high boost I'll trade you the GT28RS for my stock T25 plus $$$. Think about it if you want to save some cash, Mental Addiction is building my new shortblock right now! :D |
spec evil they use plain stock pp and use diffetn disk |
Crappy weather, day off work, bunch of parts laying around, hmmm, might as well see if they fit together. http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...p_0107copy.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...p_0108copy.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...p_0106copy.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...p_0105copy.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...p_0103copy.jpg Ya I know. "Why haven't you installed it yet?"you ask. Well the answer to that is I have all winter to do that, along with the MSP LSD and a new clutch(which I'm still deciding on). In the meantime, the car has been winterized. CF hood is in my living room, 17's are off, mask is on and the wax is thick! |
Looks great:) I have a whole garage of stuff as well. OK I cant lie its in my bedroom. My wife just loves it:rolleyes: Didn't go with the external dump. I dont plan on it either. To loud. Tial 40 eh . What spring is in it? |

Nice setup though man. What turbo is it? I'm using a Spec stage III in my Volvo. My car uses a dual mass flywheel, so the clutch disc is unsprung. It is also a 6 puck so it took a while to get used to, especially in stop & go traffic. Other than that, it's got a nice light pedal feel and quick engagement. |
