You don't tip a stripper. All of that money is theirs, no need to give them more.

Went to Kamasutra and Chez Paree last year during F1 weekend. Chez Paree sucked. Girls were not that great Maybe 3 out of the 15 there that night were decent, and the female bartender tried pouring us half shots and charging us for full ones. Kamasutra was great. Lots of good looking girls for different tastes (one looked a lot like Emma Watson) and all the employee's were super friendly. Went back a second night and got a booth. One of the best times I have had at strip club.

Also I second Schwartz's. That place knows how to make a sandwich.

Is downtown the best place to stay in Montreal? Might be going there this weekend and trying to find a place to stay.

If where you want to go and the things you want to do are in Downtown, yes, stay Downtown. If you stay outside of the city (i.e. by the airport) it can be a pain in the ass to drive. Traffic is awful but transit (train/bus/metro) is pretty good so keep that option open.

Went to Montreal in the first week of June. Nightlife is definitely buzzing and st. Catherine's is the place to shop.

I walk about 4km to get to Schwartz's from the sheraton and personally, I found their smoked meat sandwich exeedingly underwhelming. The meat was all shredded and wasnt in strips at all, i basically gave up since half the meat fell out and got all over the place. Got frustrated and threw out probably a quarter of the meat. My friend from Toronto tells me she had the same experience and she and I both got take out. Maybe it was because it was take out or the fact that neither of us spoke french and we offended them. I had a pastrami at their rival restaurant in NYC in Kats deli and I enjoyed that one way more as the beef didn't completely fall apart into the wrapper. Both were takeout. Both were as busy if not kats was twice as busy since I was there at lunch. Kats still gives a sample strip of pastrami where as Schwartz gives you a dirty look when you enter.

Schwartz was worth maybe half a try but I won't be going back ever. I like my sandwich not looking like a disaster hit with stuff all over the fucking place. Honest to god, McDonalds has better meat placement on their buns. It's like do you prefer perky firm tits or tits that look like a raw egg hanging off a nail. I have no tolerance for meat between two pieces of bread that looks like it just threw up on itself. This goes for all the "gourmet" burgers and sandwiches, if it can't fucking hold it's shape and I need a fork and knife to eat a disaster off a plate it ain't a fucking sandwich anymore. Might as well throw some shit on a plate then two slices of bread on top at that point.

Old montreal is great to walk around even at night. You'll want some proper footware for the cobblestone roads.

People there are hit or miss in terms of friendliness. Not all are rude not all are friendly. There are xxx massage places all over downtown but never tried. Otherwise the cathedrals are plenty and scattered throughout in the city.

Weird, when I travel I rarely ever go back to the same place more than once because there's just so many places to see, so many places to eat, so many things to do.

However I broke my own rule exception and went to Schwartz's twice! The 1st time was really good already but I met some locals that told me to make sure to request for a "fatty" sandwich so I decided go give it another go...

The meat was bursting with juice and flavour every bite, the staff were pretty casual but in a funny and entertaining way. I think that's their style to make you feel more at home.
Both times I lined up and ate inside, I got 2 sandwiches both times. I miss it so much!

Also regarding the friendliness. Definitely hit and miss as you can't have an entire city full of lovely angels. However in terms of ratio they were waaaaay more friendly than Vancouver (city of rude China immigrants and snobby girls?).

Many of the girls were smoking hot. Tall & sexy with French accents? Yes plz.

Yeah I thought Schartz was overrated as well. Waited an hour to get in for a shitty sandwich that I could have made myself. The sandwich looked like it was full of meat at first glance but in reality, only the middle part has meat lol

I can't tell if those of you who were disappointed by Schwartz like or dislike Montreal in itself or if you're trying to tell people to stay away from it. I mean, if you're going to let one restaurant ruin your experience, I'd hate to travel with you.

Schwartz has its ups and downs. By no means will it please everyone, but don't let it make or break your Montreal experience. You know, it could be a lot worse. I went to Dunn's (just cuz...) and I had regret it and wished I had made the trek to Schwartz.

Hey all, bumping an old thread here.

I'll be going to a bachelor party for the May long weekend, May 17 - 22 (taking a couple extra days off), and we are looking at which clubs and and strip clubs to go to.

We've made reservations to restaurants for every night but haven't firm on anything for clubs and strip clubs (too many to choose). So I'm here to search for revscene members for their recommendations.

Thanks in advance!

St Catherine's and crescent have a tonne of strip clubs. It's a delicate balance lol

Cheaper clubs = cheaper dances, probably lower quality dancers..but could be your thing lol

More expensive places like super sexe etc had a far bigger selection and prices were still fair, but some of their strippers were 10/10 models. Would repeat.

Bumping this back up, I'll be there in a couple weeks and we've currently got no plans for a day and a half and none of our meals so any suggestions are appreciated.

Terrible name for a restaurant but if you get a chance and want to enjoy a good meal, try Grinder - https://www.restaurantgrinder.ca/home (Reservations recommended.) I've tried their surf and turf platters. Great value at $89/pp. Their sister restaurants are also great options which you'll find at the bottom of the page.

In good conscience, I could not recommend Les Enfant Terrible despite the amazing view. The food is no better than a park side concession stand.

Man, I went there last summer and it was run down AF, crescent and St.Laurent we’re shadows of their former selves compared to when u was there in 2010

Moishes steak house has had some sort of revival and I’ve enjoyed a couple meals there in downtown might be worth checking out

Don't hang out downtown - it's a central place to stay but a bit ordinary. If you want to go to the "hip" neighbourhoods go to Mile End, Jean Talon and the Plateau.

For Plateau, had a good meal at L'Express and Le 4e Mur for drinks afterwards. Mile End has the two famous Bagel places and you can just walk around and check out hole-in-the-wall places for good eats.

LOL just realized this thread is almost 18 years old and we were all posting here about where to find the best strip joints. Ahh the good old days, now we're looking for a nice meal with the wife and somewhere to dump the kids I suppose?
