They're pretty easy, made one back in the day. Just get some PVC Piping, and the proper glue, and a flint lighter, bit of card cleaner for the chamber, voila. There's tons of guides online on how to make one, costs maybe $20-$30 to make tops.

Get Pvc Piping of whatever diameter you want for the barrel. Then get another section of a larger diameter for the charge chamber... I found a BBQ ignitor worked great for the ignition. Fasten the barrel to the ignition chamber and then get a screw on cap for the other end of the chamber. Tap a hole and glue in the ignitor.
Then get some aerosol like hairspray or butane or even spraypaint (dont use spraypaint to much cuz it gums up the ignitor) spray it in and then quickly screw on the cap. Hit the BBQ lighter and boom you got a potato gun... Like I said in an earlier post though if you really wanna have some fun some pipe that can barely fit a golf ball. You will be able to shoot that thing the length of 3 soccer fields. The bigger your aerosol chamber the bigger the boom will be

fuck i shot one before where i didnt screw the back cap on well enough and the cap fucking blew of almost broke my hand lol
