here's why
Excalibur.. i stayed there back in 1989.. .so yeah... it's an old place.
Luxor is really darn farrrrr , further than MGM
MGM is "closer" to the strip even if it was tail end. It's beside the Monte Carlos with a tram that can take you closer to Bellagio and Vdara / Aria.

so for that, MGM it is.

First time going to vegas with the gf next week this is my little plan from the info I gathered so far. I would love some input and ideas on how to fill out my trip

Monday:
-Get off plane at 6:30. Hotel by 8?
-Hit up Gordon Ramsay steakhouse
-Get a shuttle to Sapphire

Tuesday:
-Walk around, so far thinking of going to m&m world and coca cola
-Gordon Ramsay burger for lunch
-No idea what else to do during the day
-Bacchanal buffet for dinner
-Zumanity at night

Wednesday:
-Rent a car for the day. (BTW, does anyone know any companies where I can bypass the under 25 extra fees?)
-Go to exotic racing. Someone said in another thread if I go early enough, I may get a better deal than booking ahead
-Go to North Vegas outlet
-Lotus of Siam for lunch
-What else should I do with a car for the day?
-Ellis Island bbq for dinner as someone recommended in this thread
-O show at night

Thursday:
-No idea what to do
-Hakkasan at night

Thursday lunch could be for Wicked Spoon? Cosmopolitan lunch buffet. Good value ($17 I think) , plus free glass of Mimosa. It's a different style where everything is served on little plates instead of a pile of food in a box.

Pretty much took the words outta my mouth haha.
Of those 3 choices, definitely MGM, it's a bit away from the strip too but Luxor is like WAAAY out there.
Excalibur would be the most convenient but it's so old and smells funny.

Don't be afraid to taxi around during the day because you may end up walking more than you think.

Tuesday:
-Walk around, so far thinking of going to m&m world and coca cola (sorry, maybe it's cause I've been there since 10 years ago, there wasn't really anything that interested me ..... I rather go shopping at Forum, Fashion show mall etc.)
-Gordon Ramsay burger for lunch
-No idea what else to do during the day (walk at the places I said, OR go use the pool, heck, for 29 dollars USD, better use your resort facilities.)
-Bacchanal buffet for dinner (you will NOT regret this.)
-Zumanity at night

Wednesday:
-Rent a car for the day. (BTW, does anyone know any companies where I can bypass the under 25 extra fees?) Renting a car such as National will pick you up... that's already a 20 dollar cab ride so using National is a good choice since they pick u up)
-Go to exotic racing. Someone said in another thread if I go early enough, I may get a better deal than booking ahead
-Go to North Vegas outlet
-Lotus of Siam for lunch (MUST make reservations)
-What else should I do with a car for the day? don't see it this way, see it as... you saved over 80 bucks on cab rides from above so just be happy.
-Ellis Island bbq for dinner as someone recommended in this thread
-O show at night

Thursday:
-No idea what to do
-Hakkasan at night
*note. don't feel forced to go to buffets, go IN and have a look, just skip the line and walk to the very front and ask to do a tour, they are happy to let you walk around and take a peak.

You can also try hitting up the Gun Range for a few hours. It gets pricey but it was a fun experience with my gf.

Battlefield Vegas, i shot 3 guns all ala-carte, not a package for about $340 with all doubled up ammo, it's kinda pricey but theres like no where else you're going to be shooting these guns.

As exotics racing, make sure you and you're GF both do the ride along with the drifter, dont pay for the GF up front, they do a $40 promo at the time you're there for a second person in your party to do the ride along even if they are not driving

I got another question for those who've done exotic racing.
I saw some youtube videos and track looks really short. With some people complaining about how the guy wouldn't let you redline the car is driving a supercar like the 458 really worth it, or should I be driving a GT3 or Cayman GTS so I can drive a slow car fast?

i drove the aventador like i mentioned earlier, they dont let you bounce it off the rev limiter and he tells you when to shift, but when you're going 250mph, it's not really a concern about red lining, you're driving how you would on the track. I enjoyed every aspect about it and without the guy in the passenger seat you wouldnt be able to drive the car half as well

They will let you stretch the cars legs if the instructor is confident in your driving.

When I drove the 458, I got to drive it fairly hard the last 3-4 laps. Just don't showboat, listen to what the guy tells you, and ALWAYS buy more laps when you get there. 5 is NOT enough!

There are two track driving companies in Vegas. Exotics Racing is the bigger and more well known one, and there's also Dream Racing. Both are located at the speedway. (There are other type of driving options too, like a Nascar one.)

I've gone to both a few times. It usually comes down to the instructors, and as mentioned above, how you drive. I've noticed that for me, anyway, the Dream Racing instructors seem to really let me push the cars harder. YMMV.

The main difference is Exotics Racing has the discovery laps, where their driver takes you around the track so you get more familiar with it. For Dream Racing, you sit in a driving simulator, where you practice driving on their track first.

The last time I was there, I purchased 10 laps with one car at Dream Racing. The instructor gave me the option of running all 10 laps at once, or running 5, and then stopping, so he could give me additional feedback and tips. I chose the latter option.

Either way, though both are pricey, it's a complete blast. I usually just stick to the slower cars now, because the straightaway isn't super long anyway, and the slow cars are still pretty fast.

If you book more than one car, they'll usually remind you, but if they don't, I suggest you drive the slower car first.

Just got back this morning.
-Stayed at Linq, central location, $61/night before tax, resort fees etc. Really bang for buck and not shabby at all
-Clubbing at hakkasan was amazing other than gf's phone stolen out of her clutch
-Service was decent to great almost everywhere. Everybody expects tips though.
-Worst service I've gotten was cab from airport, and eating at bouchon. Considering how much I paid for the meals, the service I got at L'atelier and Gordon Ramsay Steak was pretty shit.
-Did 7 laps each with Cayman GTS and 458 at Exotic. I went in the morning as someone suggested in another thread without booking. Didn't get any deals.
-Did usual browsing, touristsy stuff for two of the days.
-Watch O and Zumanity. Liked both
-Sapphire was alright
-Ziplining at Rio was dope but really short. Luckily I didn't have time to do it in the day and went at night. I can't imagine doing it in the desert heat.

Thanks for all the tips and suggestions everyone

anyone know what site is the best to purchase round trip tickets for june??

My family wants to go with me to vegas for about 6 days and I am really interested in doing touristy things. We went 3 years ago but nothing special other than O from circus de soleil.

I was thinking of the red canyon for one day, I have like 4-5 days extra, what to fill in at this spot?

https://skiplagged.com

Also for those just tuning in to what skiplagged is:

- You want to go from A to B.
- Use skiplagged to find a one-way from A to C with a connection in B which can be cheaper than buying a ticket for A to B (non-stop or otherwise).
- You take your ticket from A to C via B and just get off at B, skipping B-C.

Caveats:

- No checked bags
- No round-trips (skip any leg in an itinerary, the rest of the legs are canceled)
- In the case of an IRROP, you may be re-routed A to C via D instead. You have no recourse because you bought a ticket that is contractually obligated to take you to C, not B.
- Strictly against the carrier's condition of carriage (a contract you agree to upon purchase of the ticket)
- Don't associate with your frequent flyer miles (see above)

been looking at the vegas trips from vancouver and they only offer Vancouver > seattle > vegas for cheapest, $137 canadian for one way in early June

Is this legit?? website links me to priceline.com to buy the ticket. Im guessing it only links me to seattle > vegas because vegas is too close to do A>B>C where vegas is B

Did you see the Westjet abbotsford to vegas direct flights?

It says $111.xx each way.

^ it was mentioned by vancitybuzz twice, once earlier this week and a month ago

It clearly stated it will start in fall later this year in both articles . will not be surprised if it says the same in globalnews one as well.
