I like the ETFs managed by BMO

I have had the following for a while

ZWB - Covered Call ETFs on CAD Banks
ZWU - Covered Call ETFs on Utility Companies

I used to hold ZWA as well which followed DJIA while calls were sold as well.

The yield used to be 6-9%. But with the ETF value rising, the yields are now hovering around 5%.

BMO's ETF's looked fairly promising from the few i glanced over. I'm a relatively amature investory and my whole personally managed portfolio is made up of solid equities, ETF's are a little harder to look into i find

Anyone else get fucked this morning by TD waterhouse going down for the whole first half of the day?

I didn't lose money but I was waiting for re-entry in a stock which happened to dip below my mark. By the time I had access, it rebounded back up!
Slightly pissed.. very disappointed.

All institutions were pretty much down due to extended volumes from people who want to do self directed investing or opening new accounts lol

Happened all week with TD.

I was pissed, until I saw my gains.

I got out for the most part today. Getting hammered for no apparent reason all week. Might get back in after it dips lower or it pumps the brakes for a while. My profits were getting terrified and screaming at me to pull them out.

I bought in when prices were low, gained but didn't take any profits, now I'm back to the start with no gains. I guess that's better than a red zone loss.

What is driving the huge pull back in the sector?

Same thing that drove the surge? Speculation? Lol

I’m still canopy and haven’t taken out any profits as my strategy from the beginning was to hold till legalization (not sure if I posted this before feel like I may have)

where and how do you guys get your insights/tips on what companies would be worth wild to invest in?

does anyone have a good site that they check out or somewhere to do research?

first and foremost does anyone have a good site they use to learn how to assess a companies stats (market cap etc) to make an educated decision?

It's a losing game. Just use the Canadian couch potato method.

for long term stocks read these two:
https://www.amazon.ca/Intelligent-In.../dp/0060555661
https://www.amazon.ca/Security-Analy...NX8J64YPTR7PNS

for short term follow a bunch of traders on twitter, follow news sites

sites for research: yahoo finance, finviz, thelion, etc.

and your third question is answered by the two books i linked, in great detail

I guess to begin you gotta decide whether you want to individually stock pick or just go passive investing and pick some etfs. But Canadian Couch Potato seems to be what the majority does.

Anyone here play options?
