Oof 20% is a lot, especially if your holding like > 10% of portfolio on one stock.

Take gains as some mentioned and just go travel with that money. You'll be happier.

I went from upswing to $10K and didn't take gains and now I'm down $6K . Greed lol

I don't think I'll withdraw from my brokerage accounts for at least another 6-8 years.

AMD has been good to me. Opened a position at around $10 and sold some at $16. Debating whether I should pick up more as it looks like it may be a worthy competitor to INTC this time around. 15B market cap vs intel at 240B

So I own this stock. But today it changed its ticker symbol and enters the TSX.

What happens to my stock under it's old ticker?

You might have your old stock bought out, or be issued the new stock, or a mix of both, if the company got bought out.

I was using Google Finance as my stock screener, but they have changed it to something that is far less useful.

What do you guys use for a stock screener?

I would prefer to be able to track the performance over time from when I started looking at a stock. As well as looking at stocks from multiple markets.

I was able to purchase some shares in a company months before it hit the market. I now have a certificate showing that I own the shares as well as a warrant certificate that allows me to buy additional shares at the original price.

Up to now I've only purchased mutual funds so I've never traded directly. What is the process involved in setting things up so that I'm in a position to start selling some shares off? It's trading on the CSE if that makes any difference.

The stock opened today and I'm up a massive amount from my initial investment.

Let's say you own some share to a company. Then that company gets bought out. What happen to your shares?

They might buy out your shares. IE, pay you for the shares that you have, usually at a premium. They might issue you new shares under the parent company. They may do a little bit of both.

Your best bet is to ask your stock broker, or follow what's going on with the parent company that bought out your stock.

Ah I see. Thanks. I'm pretty new to stocks. Learning as I go. I thought the shares would be worthless. Glad that's not the case.

They beat quarterly earnings expectations again. I believe for 2 or 3 years in a row now.

If you got in at $11.50, 50% would be at $17.25
