So looks like im swapping a GTE in now, guy already pulled the motor, says it drove from the interior to here no problems, grabbing the wiring harness, comptuer and probably the rear diff. Going to use the w58 and stay with the 4.30's for awhile, He bought the car for the R154.

What should I replace before I swap it in? my shortlist:

Front/Rear main seals
Timing belt/tensioner
Swap all my new parts over, water pump, belts, thermostat, rad hoses, crank case vent hose.
Replace any other soft/shitty/cut hoses
Clutch that works with the W58(any suggestions? mine barely holds the n/a's power as it is)
Tach resistors(where the fuck do I buy the right ones?)

Suprarz666 07-21-2009 01:13 PM

MHG+ARP bolts if it doesnt already have one imo.

Enraged 07-21-2009 01:27 PM

ya, hg is easier to change with the engine on a stand. dont bother with a mhg unless you get the block and head machined though, a stock HG with ARPs would be fine for mild performance mods.

I agree, don't plan on doing it right away though, I shouldn't have too much trouble changing it while the motor is in the car.

Hahahahaha, YOU'RE ryan. Sorry I forgot your name, but yes I went into the interior to pick up the car with him, drives great. I got the engine ready to come out yesterday, I guess he pulled it last night or this morning.

And yes, new head gasket, it overheated on us once, but that was at 2psi the entire way up the koke from Kelowna (to be expected in 35 degree weather).

haha sweet, good to know someone knows the car. Did it run half decent other than that? Im actually just heading out fishing for a day or two, picking up the motor/parts as soon as I can.

Enraged 07-21-2009 06:09 PM

if your in the money spending mood, get an upgraded radiator while you have it all apart.
