Hey Gary!

You never forwarded your photos to me from the Lighting Workshop you attended. I would still like to get them to give to the people who modelled that day. PM me to arrange for me to pick them up or to have you send them to me. Thanks

The first one of the two. Maybe crop out more of the shadow area on the lower left?

Some shots from today:

This guy was a real character. He saw my Leica and started to chat me up. He's also a photo enthusiast. He is holding a Nikon F2 with a 180mm f4 Nikkor. His dog was really sweet.

Bloody macro lens got a work-out today...

Damn it, I wish my Canon had a built in image stabilizer... Sometimes I find it's really hard to get a clean shot. I guess practice makes perfect...

Your macro work Jason is getting very good. I really do think it's one of your strong point.

I like the stem out of focus. It's compositional lines draw my eyes to the drops that are in focus.

For those who are curious this is a two light setup.

The main light is the sunshine. The bike is turned facing the sun (it is a cloudless day and we took it at 3pm). Behind the bike is a flash gun. It is set to 1 stop lower than the metered sun.

the halo around the bike also looks like curves and/or shadow
highlight adjustment?

Halo is from the flash behind the bike. You can see it on the ground and by the engine block.
