I'm not the most knowledgable photographer, but to me your nature photos don't seem to have any focal point or subject. Kind of like you just pulled a camera out and snapped with no specific photo in mind as it looks so busy. I hope I don't come across as insulting, just an honest opinion.

A photo doesn't need to have something as obvious as a car or even a dog as the focal point. The point I think he was trying to make (and I agree with) is there always needs to be an idea of "why" you took this photo and "what" the point of the photo is.

Your photos are exposed well but the question is "why did you take a picture of this?" There is no obvious answer why not 4' to the left, or 4' to the right of what you actually photographed. Even if it's only something as simple as an interesting branch, a flower with a unique colour, etc. there needs to be some way for the person to know what to focus on.

Hope that helps,
Mark

Sure is cold today.. Found an incredible deal on the Nikon J1 and honestly I am quite impressed! Is mirrorless really the future?

Vexor, I don't think you should stick to just car photography. After all, everyone starts somewhere and only gets better with practice. I take photos all the time, some are decent, some aren't, but the learning a new style is always fun.

This is actually a composite photo that was originally shot in bright daylight and had a blown out sky. I replaced it with a dramatic sunset and attempted to make it all work as one
