Is the idea behind this concept easily conceived?

(4th cigarette intended to emulate a casket)

Personally, I would have trouble with this one. It doesn't signal casket to me right away. Maybe a little more manipulation.

Originally I was thinking just a shadow of a cigarette, but I'm thinking it might be too simple.

Or maybe a grave in the shape of a cigarette

Or maybe manipulate the cigarette to be a tombstone with the cigarette label as the words on it...

Maybe it's too simple, but it would give me the clue quicker on the concept.

Maybe even manipulating the shadows. Have all of them represent the cigarette except the 4th one.

i agree with previous suggestions.. adding something to it would be helpful

mmm how about having it as a butt? and I don't mean that as a joke, I mean that as in burn it down, and put it out, make sure its looks authentic though, like have it bent/smothered on the end

Salar, I think it works but to me it looks like a englarged lung . So in a sense it works.

Mugenz, nice wide angle shots there!

Thanks guys.

Nice concept, but the 'coffin' is too elongated, thus it doesn't register as a coffin right away. Maybe fatten it up so it has the proportions of a coffin...?

salar...concept is great, it only lacks in the execution. the coffin needs some depth and proportions adjusted. i'd suggested getting the image of the coffin and overlaying it to match it.

maybe have 5 cigarettes with the fourth cigarette having a shadow that is a cross instead of just a straight line? you may have to move the subjects further back on the canvas to acheive this affect. just an idea

Salar, my suggestion would be to keep the work "die" in black, but make the fourth cigarette an actual casket, but maybe with the small label in the same spot on it.

Thanks everyone. I've thoroughly enjoyed and learned from all the helpful comments. I wish we could get the same level of participation for every photo that is posted.

It's fascinating how many different ideas people can have on the same concept.

Cheers,
~S

i thought about that too, but if you do that, you'd be excluding all non-christians.
