Just came back from Brand New concert at the croatian cultural center. man that was good. and sweaty. i was soaked by the end of it. anyone here go to it? anyone know the name of the opening band? i thought they were decent... but not for the Brand New crowd.

mako 05-11-2007 05:54 PM

too many sweaty, rowdy litttle girls

merrymoocow 05-14-2007 05:39 PM

merrymoocow 05-14-2007 05:40 PM

Eff-1 05-19-2007 06:05 PM

Me. I'm at VFest working event production both days. Hope it doesn't rain too much tomorrow...

mako 05-19-2007 11:03 PM

supposed to be alright on Monday though

mako 05-19-2007 11:04 PM

Eff-1, any special news or secrets to leak to us? :p

mako 05-21-2007 11:11 AM

hopefully it warms up a bit today for V

merrymoocow 05-21-2007 11:09 PM

what did everyone think of v-fest?

i went monday and the weather was nice out and the bands were rocking. if its your first time seeing some of the bands, they put on great shows. a little short for me though. 45 mintues a band. i personally enjoyed smoosh... hahahahah.

mako 05-21-2007 11:43 PM

AFI played close to a hour

Killers were slotted to play for about a hour and a half and they ended up playing a little less than a hour but supposedly Brandon was ill

Eff-1 05-22-2007 02:50 PM

Even though it was a shortened set, we are lucky we got to see The Killers at all. They had to cancel Seattle and LA right before us, and they only played 2 songs in Denver.

Billy Talent and Mariana's Trench was all I really wanted to see, and they were not bad. The rain was horrible.

i only went day 2 and it was nice and sunny and not too hot. pretty much the perfect day i would say. i heard day 1 it was pouring sheets. does any one know how rise against or my chemical romance did? not my favourite bands but would have been nice to see. i really liked metric. played some new stuff that they might put on the next album. plus emily haines is soooooo hot. what did anyone catch mother mother? i missed it...

it wasn't pouring sheets on sunday, but it was pretty ugly out. by the time I got back, my sweater weighed about 10lbs. I thought MCR and rise against both put on a great show. MCR was IMO the best performance, the pyrotechnics and everything else were sick. I will admit I listen to MCR more than the killers so I may be a little biased, but I still thought MCR had the best show. Rise Against kicked ass, what else can I say, I'm a big fan and they did a great job. Billy Talent had a shitty set IMO, I've seen them I think 4 times now and this was the worst one.

yeah, metric did put on a good show. one band that blew me away was mute math. their show was just crazy, probably the most memorable one for me becuase i wasn't expecting it.
