Not sure if it's my LP or not, but found it in a pile of old records. It had scratches on it, so most likely not mine. Anyway..........

Willow Weep for Me. Done by numerous artists. Some good, some simply great. The backup musicians are pretty good in Etta James' rendition.

Diana Krall - local musician (Nanaimo).

When I was first trumpet with the Douglas College Stage Band, I remember this one chick who came in and sang "Willow Weep for Me." with the band. I don't think she was a student at Douglas College, but she was, wow! Had the most explosive, effervescent personality. I can't remember what venue it was, but we brought the house down. One of those magical moments.

Nancy Wilson, yeah!

One more..............

Best thing to come out of Seattle............ they also recorded in Vancouver at Mushroom Records studios. The band moved to Vancouver because one of the guys in the band wanted to avoid the draft.Any of you guys remember Mushroom Records on 6th Avenue?

If you have a 5.1 surround sound system, the Eagles Hell Freezes Over Concert DVD is one of those must have DVD's. Great musicians, all of them. I also have the DTS audio only DVD, but the full video with audio has bonus material and one of my favourite songs that's only available on the full DVD. Seven Bridges Road.

Correction. It's on the "Very Best of," album.

The first time I heard this song was when I watched a Japanese asadora (morning drama) series called, "Teppan." A story of a girl who's mother passes away and she ends up meeting her grandmother. Grandmother used to own a very successful restaurant that served okonomiyaki as its specialty. It closed down years ago for an unknown reason. Girl is fascinated by the restaurant and ends up wanting to open it up again. The main reason grandmother closed the shop down was due to the girl's mother running off or something like that. After watching the series, I started my quest for the best tasting Osaka style, Okonomiyaki this side of the Pacific, lol. Anyway, the song haunted me until I found versions of it on youtube.

I stopped watching asadora. Of the very few asadora on NHK I've watched, I particularly liked, Massan, the one about the first Japanese person, Masataka Taketsuru, to make whiskey in Japan. The drama was a fictionalized tale of the struggles dude encountered while studying in Scotland in the late 1800's. He married a local girl, which made his struggles that much more interesting (bringing a caucasian woman back to Japan as a bride in those days was unheard of). It was the first asadora to feature a caucasian actress. It had a catchy theme song as well. Mugi no Uta (Song of Barley).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masataka_Taketsuru

Another asadora I watched from beginning to end was one about the wife of the famous Japanese cartoonist, Shigeru Mizuki, the creator of Gegege no Kitaro.

Theme song from that is quite catchy. Arigatou by Ikimono Gakari. Lead singer is too cute.

Ever since my mother passed away, I stopped watching/recording them. Man, recording taiga drama, asadora, and sumo tournaments for her on the DVD recorder and bringing it over to her everyday was a challenge. I went through hundreds of blank DVD's. If it weren't for her love for TV Japan, I wouldn't know any of this. Good thing most of the programs had English subtitles.

Been following this kid since he auditioned for America's Got Talent.

Showmanship has skyrocketed and so has the props and recording/production value.

Good to see young talent make it. Go, Poland!

AGT audition..........

I noticed something weird in that performance........ like the music not matching the finger movement. Probably a glitch in recording. Anyway, breathe of fresh aire.

A class concert???

Moonlight Sonata.............. damn.

Was thumbing through my vinyl collection and stumbled across this pressed in Japan gem.

I don't remember buying it. I remember buying the audiophile CD version of it. I still like the Children of Sanchez album of his. Never watched the movie, but it's on my bucket list.
