Someone made that as the alternate ending on Youtube but copyright shit took it down.

As someone who has watched the show sparingly and probably won't go back to watch it, can anyone here enlighten me on why there's so much backlash at the finale?

jeedee 04-03-2014 06:20 PM

The finale ended how it should've ended...but it didn't "feel right"

I didn't really like it...it took like what? 9 seasons to reveal who the mother was and they killed her off in 9 EPISODES

When you make that kind of money , you would milk it too.

Apparently the alternate ending is out.

Seems to me this is the ending that everyone in the world had hoped for.

kevin7352 09-06-2014 10:47 AM

omg...that ending is way more satisfying

linky no work. is there perhaps another?

This finale version was so much better. Though, $10 says they created this alternate ending after the original finale aired and they saw how unhappy the viewers were. Given the alternate ending contained no new scenes, it would have been easy to get Saget to record the voice over the next day :p

So, to bump up an old thread...

I just finished binge watching the entire HIMYM series. I gotta say, watching the episodes back to back, you start seeing the whole idea the writers had from the pilot onward. They stated that the entire purpose of the show was for Ted to be recounting the life he had with his wife, but obviously gets distracted with the "one who got away." There are a lot of little comments and hints throughout the seasons that indicates that the mom has passed away (especially in the last couple seasons). I think the reason why many of the fans were upset - myself included - is that so much time had passed between the premiere and finale that we forgot about a lot of those suggestions and instead became infatuated with making sure Ted finally found the titular character. Sure, you could tell they were stretching a bit in the back half of the show, but everything did finally make sense. I actually take back my frustration with the original ending. It actually works, when you pay attention to the whole show.
