+Kardboard+, very nice Nokia E61i. How do you like it so far? I am thinking about it to replace my old BlackBerry 8700, but then there's also the BBerry 8800 and the new BBerry Curve (8300). So many choices and so many good fones! :) I'm a Nokia fan at heart (my maine phone is a Nokia), but I don't know how good their "smartphones" are so far... |
I'm very surprised at how much I love the E61i, since I'm a die-hard Palm fan. Had the E62 for a while, but it was sluggish and felt difficult to use, and tossed that and went back to the Treo 680 I know and love. :) Now, however, I have a phone which is like half the thickness (bloody HALF) of my Treo, has a better camera, like 5 times the actual battery life, AND WiFi. It's also a lot peppier than the E62, and easier to use. Works with many of my Treo accessories with minimal configuration too (BT keyboard, BT headphone bridge, GPS), which makes me a happy camper. :) The only thing I may miss is the joystick on the E62, which was great for playing Doom. :p |
uhhh! i love your E61i theres a rumour that an e61i slider is coming in. |
What?!?! Wow, how will that look like? Super wide slider? haha The one thing that'll make this perfect is a touchscreen I think. Would let me draw notes and diagrams and stuff. |
i dont know how it will look like.. it might be slim slider style? thats all i know for now. touchscreen is currently under development and it wont come very soon. the S60 3rdedition FP2 will come next year and FP3 might carry the touchscreen. http://ringnokia.typepad.com/photos/...4/28/touch.jpg http://ringnokia.typepad.com/photos/...zoom_touch.jpg |
Very cool! But they need new names. haha Symbian 9.3 S60 Feature Pack 3 is WAY too hard to say. hahah |
just S60 u dont need to say every single thing. |
True enough, but the official name is still too long. heh :p |

3 cheers for Nokia E61i users! Got mine on the weekend and I love it! kardboard I remember seeing your E61i picture up on hofo :p I cant get over how well this phone is built Not a creak anywhere, and call quality is flawless. Anyone thinking of buying an E61i should definitely do so. Its worth every penny. Menu is slightly faster than E61i, and the dpad is much easier to use than that crappy joystick on the E61/E62. |
You mean the menu is slightly faster than the E61 lol, not the E61i (itself?!!?) haha so you're the one on HoFo! haha yay E61i users! My bro loves the joystick on the other ones because he can play Doom better on them. haha |
oops yeah i mean its faster on the E61i haha bad typo! im not really on hofo much, but i saw that pic u posted on the forums the e61i is sexy as hell.. |
Yeah, the E61/62 were kinda cool in real life, but now that the E61i exists, those two look so ugly. :p officejesus: I don't really get your pile of phones...what are they? Well, other than the VS7. |
lol its a VS7, on top of a razr, a lg fusic, and somewhere in the shadows theres a k790a haha |
I think I shall write a little review on the E61i to honor this beautiful phone.. Maybe on friday or something :p |
e61i does look nice, i would definitely get it but i dont know what i would use it for other than just a normal phone.. seems like a waste to me :( but it does look very nice. |
something i like about the e61i is that once youve defined an access point, say at your home, you dont have to enter the WEP key everytime u wanna browse .. which i had to do on the e61.. one gripe though..the screen is recessed into the phone, making it harder to clean.. nothing major though :D |
Yeah, but don't all WiFi phones have that? But my major pet peeve is that it keeps asking you which access point to use. I suppose that means I could use UMTS for one thing while surfing the web on WiFi? Wish there was a way to set it to use only WiFi access points and to automatically connect to the best WiFi access point available. Ah well, I want that Bubble World wheat germ tea or whatever it was called. haha Or maybe that Earl Grey one... |

reception is quite good, as I could get around 2 bars in my basement, where other non 850 phones i had could not get a decent signal at all. it is much much smaller/thiner/lighter than I thought it would be. It is about the same size as my 8801, just a little wider, but it is much thinner and much lighter. but it takes getting used to, especially the camera/video option. there are a lot of options available on the screen at any given time. |
i've heard its a bit laggy ... did you find it so? i never liked the prada cause its just too fashion phone for me and the iphone look alike is a lil too much lol but never the less post more pics! and pics from the cam too lol |

yeah i saw youtubes reviews about it. some of them did seem to lag, but so far so good on mine. maybe i don't have a lot of stuff in the phone thats why. i'll take more pics of the phone. haha. as far as pics taken with the phone, i'll have to figure out if that usb cable works, or i might have to get a BT dongle again. |
lol thats great swt phone ! |
