go for a volcano vaporizer if you can afford it, i recently had a chance to buy a brand new one for $300 cdn :( totally regret not buying it now

its basically garbage, all the thc is taken out its basically garbage..like that those types of weed you can order through magazines, it looks nuts but the reason why its so cheap is because there is no thc in it and thc is the thing that gets you high.. although marc emery taught me that you can put it into tea bags and use it in weed tea which helps you sleep... of course you can always use it for cookies/brownies

hypa. if you are not to sure about which one to get perhaps go check out the BCMP vapour lounge, im preety sure you can try all the ones i posted ( not sure about the 3rd one )

1. Your bud will turn from green (or purple, or whatever you got) into a weathered brown colour. Throw it away when you can't see the THC on your bud and it's brown.

2. When it's brown, you know it's done - no more crystals to get high from.

3. I wouldn't suggest cooking with it, just go get more buds. You save a lot from using a vaporizer anyway.

4. It's not worth your time to try and sell the remains.

*Vaporizer is awesome if you like to get high in your own home. It doesn't leave any smoke and almost no smell. You save money from using less bud b/c you're inhaling the THC through water vapour that will collect in your lungs. You'll experience more of a "body high" than the usual "groggy/stupid/stoner high". It's healthier for you in the long run and is a lot less work than rolling joints/cleaning bong, etc.

I've tried (2) kinds in my lifetime:

1. Vapour Daddy - retails around $150-180? (Under $200) and it's pretty good, heats up fast and won't overheat, overall good compact size, nice party accessory for a coffee table with friends over.

2. BC Vapourizer - retails around $60-80? and it's okay if you don't have a lot of money. It's not a "true" vapourizer where it heats up the water vapour around the THC, it's like your old school solder iron where it is a metal "tray" in a glass jar that heats up your buds enough to the point where it's burning so you're still inhaling some smoke - just not as much.

BOTTOM LINE:
If you can afford something nicer - DO IT! You get what you pay for!

Wow, awesome info in this thread, thanks a lot to those who replied. I'm going to spring for the Vapir today. They can ship it out form Ontario, and I'll have it by next week. The only other piece I'll need is a good grinder.

The vaporizer pros are what really caught my attention. The fact that it doesn't burn any of the material is a huge positive. Carbon and tar are what ruin what I consider to be a good method of relaxation. Not only that, but I'm an active mofo, and the attack the smoke can put on one's lungs and throat is enough to make me think about giving it up for good.

With the Vaporizer, those negative go away.

I can't wait until mine comes in.

if you wanna try the volcano, hypa go down to bcmp. bc marijuana party on hastings. right beside where blunt bros used to be. $5 to use a volcano. they have a smoke/vapour lounge right there for you to test out the 'cano.

also, The Hemp Cabin has cano's for rent at $30/day. obviously there's some sort of deposit etc.

vaping is cool, but don't invest a penny until you've actually tried it.

it is nothing like smoking. the benefits are health and taste. but for me, the high is pathetic. folks call it "clear headed" but it feels like all i did was take a few mini hoots. not what i'm looking for at all.

crixy is talking out of his arse. there's thc within the plant ya know. i mean, i've seen jack herer that looked mediocre at best, hardly any visible trichomes, but i'll tell you. some of the finest i've ever had. even my friends who were ragging about it at first had to shut up after we smoked.

after your bud has been vaporized you can still use it. you can either extract via iso/butane, or cook with it.
i know hardcore stoners who make my ass look like a noob who cook with their vaped remains on the daily. it's much better then throwing it away.
ie: folks who have actually been smoking/growing/extracting & collecting glass for as long as i've been alive. (26)

consider that most folks cook with SHAKE. i don't do anything with shake except make oil. so your vaped up buds are A-OK for cooking.

btw: re: cooking. using top notch buds is a waste for cooking. i know this through personal experience and other folks who have said the same.

depending on what you enjoy hypa, but i've got a phedor at home in conjunction with my roors.

essentially it's a ceramic soldering iron designed to be used as either a vaporizer or a lighter that doesn't use any fuel.

if smoking w/ the phedor, it's essentially an awesome lighter that lets me hit my glass as hard as i want without drinking a bic. but i doubt it's for you. it's essentially home based, has a cord and is best used with paraphenalia.

or if you just hold it a wee bit higher you can achieve the same vapoury goodness. but this technique requires a deft touch, practice and patience.

i only use the vap technique when i feel like it. it's easy as hell, i'm just lazy and i like actually smoking. but i'll usually start the session with a vaped hash hit.

btwx2: vaping's taste diminishes after each hit. only the first few hits are noticeable. so after that it's benefits are very blah.

BOTTOM BOTTOM LINE. the volcano is the best widely available vapourizer on the market hands down. so if you are going down that route, source one out, and get it.

but imo you're better off sourcing top notch extracts like budder, bho or iso oil, full melt bubble. because that shit is almost like vapourizing because you're skipping all the plant material. and if you put that stuff in a volcano, then you're realllllly happening.

check out vapordomes. it's a glass accessory that goes on top of the cano. to recreate the glass/bong feel. also, i don't like huffing out of a bag like a fucking junkie, so if i were to get a cano, i'd be getting a dome too.

One of my buddy's got a Volcano, so I have used it quite a bit.

It is pricey, but well worth the money and your lungs will thank you. It's also very well built, it looks like an appliance you could leave on your kitchen counter, and no one would be the wiser.

I also notice you don't use as much stuff as you usually do if you smoke it to get the same high.

vancitiboy, the vappy looks like a cool unit. I think it's hilarious that they have a car kit though. I get stuck behind dudes smoking joints out of Port Kells everyday, and I can honestly say it does screw with your driving ability.

That's the biggest benefit for me.
My goal is to use no more than an 1/8th a month, and if I can get more effeciency out of my smoking utensils, I'm laughing.

The other problem is waking up with a case of the "stupids".
I found that smoking the actual material causes hangover type symptoms. If I could get away from that, I'd be happy too.

I agree with you on the fact that vaporizing is not the same as smoking a joint, I think joints are classic and will never go out of style.

However, I think collecting roaches and oil and all that shit is just nasty! It's like collecting pennies and one day you roll it up and go to the bank and get a few bucks - oh wow yay!? Just go get more fresh buds, it tastes better.

I used to have a buddy who would save all of his roaches from the summer, and blaze them the final week before school. He would fill a mason jar over the span of a few months, and I remember the stink when he rolled his massive roach joint.

best thing to do is save up all your roaches till 420 then bust them out and use that to roll somes crazy blunts, and when thats all gone save up again till the next 420 :high::high:

I have used the Vapir One 4.0 a few times. (PM Jeffraider he owns one) It works great! And its not a bad price.

if you use the vaporizor, 1/8th lasts longer than if you were to roll it. 1/8th is still probably not enough for a month w/ a vapo though. i'd say 1/4 can last you a month w/ a vapo if you smoke maybe 6 or 7 days out of the month.
