. so i'm bumping this after 1.5 years cuz i just joined sports central (cuz fitness world on arbutus isnt fucking 24/7 anymore). so who's still there? and what did you guys sign up at? |

gotta move to sport central too how much you pay to join? |
I'm still there, 4 days a week |
after 8 years i'm still there :S |
im still there go about 3..alot of guys from fitness quest on main street have joined up now i think they have a promotion for $25 if you sign up for a year |
a lot of fitness world arbutus late night members have moved to sports central. i've noticed, they're lacking a lot of smaller plates. i can never find enough 5's or 10s, or 35's. wtf? are they just all hidden somewhere? 45's are fine but i mean, i want to throw on 5's or 10's, i can't increase by 25's and 45's (the most common plates i can find around). the place sometimes smells like manure when the winds blow from the farm lands in hah. |
Yeah, sometimes you have to search around for plates |

They are pretty selfish bastards, if they have a client in that area, you can't use any equipment there. Even if they haven't touched it |
what time do you guys go? |
monday, tuesday, thursday, saturday (or sunday) at 5 pm |

I'm thinking of leaving sport central. The mma is starting to piss me off, and so are the trainers. Fitness unlimited just got a shitload of new equipment and I might move over there. |

Signed up tonight when I went with some friends $99 membership fee + $13.99/month for a year. Works out to be ~$22/month |
sport central is probably one of the dirtiest feeling gyms ever.. all those people who say it's clean.. it really isn't. most of the equipment is older. nothing really new. DB's and free weights are constantly loose. they never tighten their shit. and honestly, it feels soo dirty in there. it smells like shit all the time because they don't have proper ventilation. nasty smell. but if you're going to work out it's decent. hella busy after 7pm-12am. either go in the morning or afternoon. otherwise the free weight section will be PACKED. if you want luxury, go to steve nash gym.. but they close at 11pm. kinda gay.. sport central is 24hours +. so ymmv i've been to fitness unlimited, it's wayy smaller but seems cleaner and they have a full sized bball court if you're into that. not as buys as sport central i find. |

is steve nash richmond open yet? |
I've been going to SC around 11pm for the past 2 nights and its not that busy. I don't think it smells inside or anything either. I'm going to try hitting the gym tomorrow morn @ 6am to see how the "before work" crowd is. One thing that I hate is their lockers use smaller locks so my normal combination lock doesn't work  Do you guys use the lockers and leave your locks on there? I'm thinking of doing that if I make it a routine to work out in the morning before work. |
