How do you find out what positions they are hiring for? I looked at the employment section on thier website but it only says stop by or email resume? Any help...

bump, is it just like re stating what you put on your resume, as in the qualities and skills? then they ask situational questions, right?

and i guess there is no dress code really right? so i can wear my captains shirt?

^as in all interviews, you dress to impress.

dress pants and a nice dress shirt.

most questions are situation based.
however, be prepared to sell yourself to the interviewer.
be prepared to answer the "name two negative things about you"
find answers that are negative, but try to turn it into a positive aspect later on the interview.

Back in September I tried to apply at the one by BC Place. Got a call at 1:03 PM to my home phone, and I was in school at the time (checked my caller ID when I got home). Never got called again.

I tried to apply at the Surrey Costco, but it's been about 2 weeks since then.

you get free executive membership. no 'discounts' of sorts as Costco doesn't gouge its members with ridiculous margin. you also get benefits relatively quick (6 mos. rolling to qualify I believe) if you work a certain number of hrs per wk.

not 100% sure about this but from what i know from working there before, the seasonals will be let go a little after the christmas season and the ones they like will be kept...so getting a job there after christmas might be difficult.

I'm thinking about applying to work at Costco but have a couple of questions for current and former employees.

1) How strict are they on having part-time and seasonal employees commit to a minimum of 25 hours a week?

2) What are the general hours for afternoon merch?

3) What positions does "front end" consist of?

Thanks in advance!

2) afternoon merch = 500-1330 or 1100-1930 iirc

3) basically the staff bitches, collect carts, stand there and bag products, run all over the departments for price checks etc.

part-timers have more priority. when i was working seasonal before, it wasn't so much 25 hours. it ranged from 8-20ish due to the amount of staff they had, there was problems giving everyone enough hours. kinda sucked.

I worked at the Richmond one during the Winter Break(Seasonal)...

The interview process was actually easier than i thought, its basically an interview with two other staff(managers) where they take turn questioning you.
All they do is ask you questions on what you would do in certain situations and rate your from your answer.

You don't have to be that formal for the interview, but of course it is good to give a good first impression.

They should be hiring for seasonal again for the summer season, which I think starts during may.. april?

Hope this helps... first time posting here too haha
