Does anyone work at costco?

Any idea what the pay range is for regular and seasonal staff? I've googled websites and some people say it's $9.50 and others say $11, and some say it's even higher.

illicitstylz 10-26-2007 11:03 PM

no matter what position, you start at 11$.
3month probation you get a $0.50 raise.

sundays are the sweet spot. 4$ premium. so say you start at 11, sundays you make 11+4 = 15$ an hour for an entry level job.

9.50 was the old start wage, they recently increased it to 11.

ooooh excellent. thanks dude!

+1...work environment is pretty sweet, workers are all quite friendly but managers are douchebags

Been with Costco for many years. I'm there part-time. It's hard to give up. They promote a pretty good work-life balance. The pay helps as well. In fact, it used to be time and a half when working on Sundays.

I know that a full time cashier at top rate of pay will make over $50k per year working 40 hours per week. Person standing at the door, $48K per year. This does not even include the benefits. If your a top level manager of a warehouse, they make more than $100k (at least that's what I heard).

They are. I was wondering the same thing but richmond is always looking for more people.

Any know any info on the hiring situation on Grandview?

TurtMcDirt 10-30-2007 11:26 AM

Every Costco should be hiring right now. It's the seasonal period for the next little bit.

Just bring your resume to them and they'll go through it and give you a call.

Conan O'Brien Sex Video 10-30-2007 07:27 PM

i just sent my info by email and they forwarded it to the store i was interested in. i got the email address off their website

Jer3 10-30-2007 08:35 PM

its better to drop off your resume in person at the membership area. working for costco is good since hours are quite flexible and the working environment is great since the managers are all really easy-going and nice. im talking about richmond costco though so it might be different for others.

how long does it take? because their training orientations happen about every other week therefore the managers don't go through resumes every day. it takes about a week to get a call back for a phone screening.

Gh0stRider 11-03-2007 01:07 AM

what positions do they have?

illicitstylz 11-05-2007 10:13 PM

lot attendant sucks ass, head out in the rain collecting carts in the cold especially now winters out.

and it's night MERCH just in case they ask you what you're applying for and you tell them the wrong position haha " night march "

k2_alpha 11-07-2007 06:29 PM

hey if you really want a job at costco, i can probably get you in for seasonal. if you work hard and the managers like you, they might ask you to stay longer. however, you HAVE to be willing to work hard. its really fast paced.

btw. its $11 for probation, $11.50 for under 800 hours.

unlikely, seasonals are required to work at least 25h a week...at least i did. best position is definitely merchandise stocker...slack work, don't deal with douchebags customers, excellent summer job cause you get to go to the cooler and freezer a lot
