I merged under 60 because there was so much traffic, as soon as the line broke and a space for me to merge, I told the instructor i'm merging now. He even told me what I did was safe.
The best tip i could give is just to think out loud. Like if he makes you drive through the school zone, just say school zone, 30 kms. If you drive by a cross walk, and no ones there, say empty crosswalk driving through. The instructor told me i didnt have to do that, but I did it anyways, and because of that he knew I was aware of my surroundings. Then its all about making the instructor feel comfortable with you driving. As soon as he starts talking about shit unrelated to the test, your home free. Like canucks and shit.
