Anyone still paddle? :hi:

I decided to start this year. Steering is way too boring.

Have been training since September. I paddle out of Dragon Zone. Their boats are green. If you see some dude on a DZ's single at night, that's probably me. Says hi. :D

I've been dboating with Kanaloa (Starbucks) since last year... only started getting more serious this summer. Started OC'ing a few months ago. Got an FCRCC membership, so I'm trying to make it out onto the water once or twice a week.

I'll yell Nikko, next time I see someone on those DZ oc's.

Swift or Surge?

DZ only has 2 crappy boats so it's either me or my friend :fullofwin:

was on Sumatra last year (that's where I started), on Swift this year, and jumped onto Surge after Alcan. I didn't realize the difference between the two boats until after I got bumped up... Even though we had lost a few key paddlers after Alcan.

I've been on those DZ oc's... they're not THAT bad, but prefer paddling out of FCRCC. We still practice out of DZ though...

Are you joining a team this year?

Nlkko 11-18-2012 11:44 PM

I'm on the SFU team this year. Half is decent and half is just terrible. We're also practicing out of DZ Friday night. Trying to get more people on small boats to work on their technique.

I'm also on Lotus team for outrigger races. Hoping to do Alcatratz next summer and probably Molokai after.

I wanted to join Lotus, but I'm too committed to DB right now, plus I have my FCRCC membership. That and it is a little far for me... Maybe next year. I did my first Lotus race in Sep though, and it was fun as hell.

Our club is thinking about possibly sending a crew out to Kona next summer, personally I want to do Pailolo.

Looking at getting into dragon boat this year. Any tips on how to register with a club? I checked a couple of sites already but not too sure where to go.

^ go to a few different teams and prac. w/ them , see who u gel with . join that team. google dbwest . u have to see if u want to be in comp or rec. start rec if u dont know much about db.

i have paddled for over 4 - 5 years with various comp teams. wanted to get back into it after break of 2 years.. but cant commit time and travel any more. maybe i'd join a rec team (last time i tried out a bmo rec team , got annoyed and left to join comp)
