I used to do lots of stretching throughout the day anyway, and so jumping straight into a boat wasn't a big deal back then. But... the only stretching I get done during the day now is twisting to the right to use the computer. :D

RAYClovis 08-02-2009 01:37 PM

sho, out of curiousity, do you get a lot of on-job activities outside of just driving really fast occasionally? I see/hear way more police sirens in Vancouver than in Richmond.

sho_bc 08-02-2009 01:45 PM

We get the occasional running after people, but not often. We walk around here and there, but generally we're standing around talking with people, driving, sitting in the car driving/typing or in the office typing

Where do you usually stand around? I'll drop by for a chat sometime lol

We're rarely just standing around doing nothing... its usually talking with clients. If nothing is going on, we're usually patrolling around looking for stuff.

Anyone interested in going to Victoria with RGL? We need one extra male paddler

Brad who?

no one needs help to recover from a huli, if they do, they shouldn't be out there in the first place. (newbies notwithstanding)

I highly doubt that. Its like one of those things like: not getting ass blisters from the evil DB seats or 2 girls coming on to ya and saying they would like a threesome.

Yeah, i'd love to... but there is no way i'd be good for the 12 races we'd be doing in one day..... I'm going to grab a K1 tomorrow and test it out (super low resistance through the water), but most likely not paddling. I've been switched to team manager... aka team bitch. ;)

RAYClovis 08-06-2009 12:14 PM

Well, nothing wrong with passing out cold drinks to the team and massaging their calloused feet. :D

I'll be on OC tomorrow as well, Tony, what time you feel like hitting the water? I want to be on by like 5 or 6 and head back before it gets dark. (Okay, I need better tan.)

sho_bc 08-06-2009 12:15 PM

Eh. been roped into paddling.... not all 12 races though. we'll see how it goes

RAYClovis 08-06-2009 12:20 PM

That was fast. I guess foot massage isn't your thing. ;) Good luck with the races and bring home some bling. You know which other nations brought a boatload of experienced paddlers?

sho_bc 08-06-2009 01:03 PM

What can I say, I'm a sucker for competing/racing. I'm going to be very sore the next day though.

RacePace 08-06-2009 02:33 PM

It'll be interesting to see how fast the Australians and Hong Kong police are. No slouches I'm sure

Some members of the Australian DB team came into my restaurant and as I was talking to them, they mentioned how they were gearing up to repeat as champions. I've gotten a chance to hold the medal cause of all the Fire and Police game participants that go eat there, and the medal is pretty heavy. Definitely a high quality medal.. oval shaped, with the a thick band holding the medal.

So pretty much, it's more of an emphasis on pulling with your back right?

P.S: You're on the hook for OC! lol

Regardless of the stroke technique, the emphasis should always be pulling with your back in combo with leg drive, more power that way, because strong arming it will only get you so far, before you cramp up or get fatigued.

In any case, a bunch of us are going on OC at 6:30 today, if you would like to join.

Woot! Gold, silver, bronze and either 4th or 5th in men's 20s. 10 races for me, 11 races total. Was an awesome day.
