TAK3N 4.5/10, meh think they took the "action" a bit too far...could have been better with more regular hand to hand combat

A Most Violent Year 7/10
was quite good, the very ending seemed unnecessary though

fury 7/10
not a fan of the cast (LaBouf and Shane from TWD) and plenty of war tropes, but great visual direction and overall still worthwhile
reminded of the submarine movie u5701 from the 90's

Fury 5/10 didnt like the fact that they made the germans seem like star wars stormtroopers (not the tracer rounds) where they couldn't aim for shit

really didn't like how they made allied rape seem like willing prostitution of the germans

American Sniper 6/10 wow that was long....movie was alright but wow felt like i was watching a bollywood drama, the ones that are incredibly long with very little happening....there have been much better war films that were equally as long but made better use of their time... agree with the criticisms over the film, those being, all iraqis were bad and portraying chris as a hero rather than a bigot that enjoyed killing iraqis

still, not bad, but i couldn't see myself watching it more than once

The Imitation Game 9/10 great movie, great script and great acting.

as for Fury, if you did a bit more research before hand, you might enjoy the movie a bit more. I found out after the fact
german had really strong tanks. freaking powerful as heck but the ones Brad Pitt was using were much smaller, faster, and easier to repair in speed.

german tanks were much much bigger, heavier and during transport, they were so big, they had to be resembled each and every time before action, let along repair cost.

Brad's type tanks were small, and were much cheaper to make.

It was a huge article but thats the jist.

no i knew the panzers are far superior
the final scene was just a bit reaching when they made the germans look like mindless zombie hordes rushing towards an armor...sure it was the final leg of the war but I doubt they were that desparate to just charge at that
they could've easily gone around the tank given the scenario...also funny how 300 of them didn't have a single anti-tank measure

Guardians of the Galaxy. Finally got around to watching it. I don't know how to explain it, but it's a nice change from the usual Iron Man/Cap/Thor/Avengers movies. A lot more light and fun, but still as entertaining.

8.5/10

Oldboy (2013) 4/10 - they took a good idea and threw a really fucked up twist into it..

Oldboy has to be one of the most overrated movies ever made.

I get that people were blown away by the twist, but come on. The rest of the movie was complete garbage.

American Sniper 9/10 Really enjoyed the movie. My friends sister was "boycotting" the movie because of some "it doesn't represent muslims/islam appropriately" bullshit and then some other dude said it was a complete American Hoorah movie. Both statements couldn't be farther from the truth. Not once was there a mention of religion throughout the movie (even Bradley Cooper kept mentioning in the movie that he's just doing his job) and the only hoorah moments were when they showed him at BUDS training. Fuckin uneducated hippies.

Unbroken 8/10 Really enjoyed it. Lots going on in it, good story of survival and maintaining the will to live

The Imitation Game 8.5/10 Really well done, great acting, great story, etc.

Interstellar 9/10 Just finally watched it last night and all the Facebook status' I saw earlier about it blowing peoples minds, well it accomplished that.

It was very messed up and reminded me of a mix between SAW and Cube. The 'twist' just really grossed me out, other than that it was interesting.

The original subtitled one is one is 5 stars in most reviews.

Yeah I don't get the 5 stars.. maybe because expectations for Korean movies are (rightfully) so low... Same thing happened with Infernal Affairs. It was an okay movie, but was lauded as being this masterpiece. The remake was WAY better, and this is from someone who used to be a HUGE fan of Hong Kong cinema from the 70's through the 90's.

Normally I'd agree, the fight scene where he explodes 40 people with a hammer was awesome, I like twisted and gory movies but I draw the line at

Spoiler!

john wick.. .stupidest plot but the rest was ok. there was literally no plot.
"hey, let's do a move about revenge"
"that's it"
"yeah... revenge of something, say.... do something that woudl hurt a man, say his wife, his car... beat him up a bit and maybe kill a pet or his gold fish..."
"sure....."
that's pretty much the plot 7/10 decent action.

unbroken. wtffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff such a boring movie. acting was ok. even if it was based on a true story. 6/10

2 days one night... french movie.... bad ass movie, no idea why it was nominated. 6/10

American Sniper 8/10. Some parts of the movie are fabricated away from the book. For those who are more interested in the story I've got a bit of a read if you're on the pooper In the Crosshairs - The New Yorker
