Pitch Perfect
Normal movie score = 7/10
Anna Kendrick I you score = 8.5/10

8 Mile, re-watching
Seems much slower paced than the first time watching, but still an excellent movie
8.5/10

Last battle is AWESOME still

Did it just come out today?

Just got back from seeing it. Packed theatre.

Very fun movie, always had my attention. Just remember its a movie, forget about the logical shit, and its a great movie.

It covers a lot ; technology, humour, spies, fashion, with a decent storyline, all into one movie.
Kinda like 007 with a humourous spin in the other direction.

9/10, would recommend.

chicks in the movie are cute as fuck but the story line is alright, guy bitched at this girl for something small but he lost her when he wanna get her back. 8/10

cute chicks but the story was about a person can still love someone even though they have little money no car or house.

about cheating and getting caught for it and a person who can really cares about someone lol

Big Hero 6: 5/10

It was cute but I don't really get what was with all the random Japanese elements in the screenplay.. It didn't really make any sense.

Actually nothing in the movie really made sense, most of what happened was physically impossible. Obviously we have to suspend disbelief with superhero movies, but at least in those, impossible feats are explained somehow. IE Superman's strength, Spiderman's abilities and technology, etc. In this one, the kid just invents shit out of thin air whenever he needs it.

But in the end, it was never really explained why this stuff can happen, or why San Francisco became Tokyo or whatever...

The only thing that could explain it is if the whole movie was the kid's dream or fantasy after losing his parents or brother... But nope, they're just superheroes now...

My only guess is that they were going to do that, but the premise would have been too similar to the Lego movie? I dunno

it's loosely based on an old marvel comic

There's still no explanation of how the 'world' works.

For comparison, Wreck it Ralph works because they exist in a video game world. Video game rules take place in their world, so they can do whacky things that are impossible in the real world.

In big hero, there's no explanation how they can do the things they do.

The more I think of it, the more it's just stupid. I have to lower my score to a 5

It's a sub-2 hour kids movie, what do you expect? Tons of movies take place on what looks to be Earth but bend or shatter all kinds of laws of physics. IMO it's better and more believable for them to do a bunch of impossible things vs movies where they only do one impossible thing.

The Grand Budapest Hotel: 8.5/10

Very original. Bits of naughty, knee slapping and unexpected on-the-run antics that makes for something unique. The cast was definitely a surprise as well!

I have a huge thread on my facebook discussing my issues, so I don't really go through it all over again... Most people just say "it's a kids movie, who cares?". In that case, why did you like a kids movie if you're not a kid? There are still good kids movies and bad ones. That is a horrible excuse for poor writing.

Anyway, Disney and Pixar have made amazing "kids movies" in the past that don't have these issues. Wall-E, Wreck it Ralph, Toy Story all come to mind. Yes, those bend reality. That's not the point. They all have reasons to do so. They have established a world where it's acceptable for this stuff to happen. With Big Hero 6, it's just lazy, shitty writing.

Fair enough, the movie does cut fairly close to what I consider to be too little deviation from reality to make it feel like an alternate reality/timeframe, there's kind of few too exceptions for it to properly make sense.

Sick all weekend so stayed home watching tv.

The Interview - 4/10. It just wasn't funny to me. I don't know, maybe I'm getting old. Maybe it was hyped up too much.

The Punisher 2003 on Netflix - 6.5/10. Not a dark movie like i expected it to be. I expected more over the top violence. Not bad nonetheless.

The Bourne Legacy - 7.5/10. Loved all the Bourne movies. This was pretty good too even with Renner. Weisz still smoking hot. Looking forward to the next Bourne with Damon again.

John Wick - 8/10. Excellent movie. Slight letdown in final fight. Glad to see Keanu with a winner again.

The Dark Knight Rises - 7/10. I think this was the weakest in Nolan Trilogy. Great vehicles and special FX. A lot of weird things didn't make sense like having his back broken then fixed by that rope. Weak death to Bane.

Under the Skin - right after watching 1/10. Now 7/10. I wasn't ready for this movie cause I was hyped from the other action movies and there was no action in this one. Kept thinking about it today and this movie only a small part about aliens abducting humans. Need to watch again for more of the nuances.

it should have gotten the Oscar

well Lego Movie should have gotten nominated and won the oscar but oh well

I really liked Big Hero 6, but it was pretty cookie cutter and almost animated series quality
