OH the good old days; our company sponsored avengers / batman movies back in the day. Last one rented was Caption Marvel, and also Avengers end game. that must have been hella expensive.

It was pretty common for companies to rent out James Bond, people would be told to dress up in tuxes and ball room dresses and make it a corp event.

But yeah, for $250.. that's legit for 20 people.

Are there day and time restrictions to rent out a whole theater? $250 seems really cheap lol

You'd think they would make it difficult but nope this is one of those deals where it's just sweet all around. 100pm 400pm 700pm and 1000pm available every day only at select theaters though i.e. Richmond Riverport, Tinsel Town or whatever it's called now and some others.

Not bad for M. Night Shyamalan; Obviously, wouldn't be him if it wasn't written, directed, and produced by him.

I like this; had no emotions going in, didn't watch the previews which helped.

mysterious people stuck on an island and story unwraps. People blacking out, weird shit happening. I didn't mind it esp. when you're not expecting "6th sense" ending...

7/10

OLD 6/10 - Not bad but weird camera angles and emotions from the characters. Decent story and reveal but not super shocking or ground breaking. Just kind of played out and that was that.

Spiral (From the Book of SAW) - 1/10 - Fucking brutal. As a fan of both Chris Rock and the SAW movies they both fell short. It came across as a cheesy B-movie horror. Worse than even the shittiest SAW movie.

The Night House 7/10 - Cool premise and execution. Points for being a bit different.

Bond was really just OK. It really lacked a lot of action from when he 1st started the genre again.

I did like how the ending is diff; and gone are they days where bond girl shags and dies. Guess they had to change it up cause to make sure it's politically correct.

Not sure how this happens ... there was a real bullet in a prop gun?

Not necessarily an actual bullet, but apparently there was something in the prop gun that got fired out when it was used. I think this is the same thing that happened to Brandon Lee. Crazy that it actually happens

Probably didn't check the chamber before firing, assuming something was lodged within the barrel which caused the problem.

Blank bullets still carry powder so they still carry risks if the chamber isn't properly checked and cleared.

Just finished watching Shaheed ( martyr) Udham on prime with the parents. Some of the scenes were extremely hard to watch, made my stomach sick. Mom actually left for a bit. It's hard to tell a whole person's life story in a few hours but the director did a good job focusing on the main points. People give Bezos and Amazon a hard time but they made this movie something other companies/people may not have done.

9/10

sad to hear the latest 007 bond film wasn't the greatest.

i heard they were so worked up about telling the whole story from past films than the ending was good.

still gonna check it out.

Halloween Kills 7/10 - I love this new franchise but this one was just ok. More of a set up for the trilogy finale. It had a deeper underlying message about fear and evil that was done well in today's context. It had some references to the old films too. I like how this franchise only recognizes the first two movies and this trilogy works as a conclusion to those two films.

I liked Dune, maybe not to the major accolades level but it was for me a refreshing movie to see. Looked beautiful, I really enjoyed the look of the film. The tone was intense, I really bought into the people in it and cared the good guys. The different houses were pretty cool and nah I really can't say it just feels like another star wars movie not even close.

Saw Dune at Brentwood on Friday night with the gf and some buddies. All 3 of them fell asleep

We went to the late show @ 10:40 and ended up drinking for 3 hours prior @ Rec Room, and in the theater, so they were definitely pretty mangled.

I was the only one who stayed awake, and enjoyed the movie from start to finish. I'd give it a 4/5, you can definitely see the influence of this universe on the Warhammer 40K one.

As someone who hasn't watched the older Dune film, I recommend seeing this, visually it was a buffet on the eyes. Very confusing though, I won't bs on that. Had a to watch a few "Emergency Awesome" type videos on Youtube to understand the story and lore better, and I'll give the movie a second watch @ home now knowing wtf was going on.

GF needs to re-watch it anyways since she slept on my damn shoulder the whole film

The Departed: 9/10

Rewatching this since there was a recent Rewatchables episode on it and I had always wanted to watch it again. Holds up amazingly well.

B move at best. i guess thieves can now just go in, put their ears in a safe and crack open. wow.

Did not find it interesting at all.

also a b line move but was much better. simple plot, simple case, simple task... worked well. Had a bit of tension right where it was needed. I found this much more enjoyable.
