Obviously it was postponed duh, so i'm not going to write anything about that.
I can tell you from the tablots / youtube videos throughout the years / news that I've read - will have to fact check.

Louis Koo - being the biggest producer / company / movie HK leader sat down with this guy but he still did NOT return. He says he's too "old" to play which is BS cause every cast (esp the girls are old hags as well). He says his standards are too high and has a hard time removing himself from the role (method acting?)

Despite all being postponed, when Raymond Lam did his concert, Louis Koo went on to sing and promoted that the movie will be live 2026 CNY.

THE POSTER is SHI**** but the MOVIE was AWESOME.
No it is NOT sharknado, it's NOT a crap movie which was a huge surprise!
Do NOT watch trailer and do NOT get tricked by the poster. I had a great ride with this movie.

Everyone in the movie was a no body. SUPER low budget but man did it surprised me with a solid script, fast paced flow, short movie, great music and it kept you holding on to your seats.

Couldn't really pin point any loop holes; didn't have much boring useless story line... just RIGHT down to business.

I don't want to give the movie away but sharks has really nothing to do with the movie - it's a survival horror thriller is what i'll leave with you. Yes, you'll know instantly who the antagonist is as in first 3 mins but how the movie plays out was just solid.

Yes, it's very standard script and I knew how the blonde got herself out of the survival situation but you just are hanging in there... bravo.

What a catch. Props to the director for making the editing super tight. (Director was also a no body)

Jurassic park rebirth
Scalett J has been begging to be in J Park movie so glad that she got her wish. She was also the lead and heck, the Avengers did bold her well as lead and it did help her land well in the movie. Props to her holding up her age as she still is relatively young (40).

Can't kill the series as it made 6X (600M) in box office so they will just continue to print money with this.

Few praises as the script did well with a solid backdrop and moving along quick into / onto the dinosaurs. Was it the best premise? No. It's always no. Rich guy has billions, wants some type of DNA, and hires people to get what they want. Thta's always the formula and background; extremly cheesy but whatever.

Scarlett Johansson as a covert operation expert (hilarious, more on this later), and Mahershala Ali were decent star power and you always have a scientist as well as a 'banker'; all had really zero backdrop or story development...then again, do you really need it?

What's interesting was a second story line of a random family on a boating trip was a really weird - yeda yeda it ties it in at the end, but it was honestly a waste and not necessary.

Fun facts - there were so many random product placement which was really not necessary. Altoids, M&M’s, snickers, twix, Dr pepper, Lay's (which was hilarious as the bags of chips still had 'air' in an abandoned corner store).

Holes in the movie. Overall I did enjoy the movie, as few wtf moments were just the lack of firepower in the movie. You're going on an expedition and guns? bombs? flares? anything? Not even a rambo knife.. come on....
When you're trying to jump off the boat, you want to pack your post important things... Then half way half way in, you tell everyone to throw all away and travel light with just a backpack... sureeee. Given Scarlett played an expert and doing all these missions, she seems pretty shitty trying to tag a dinosaur and not being nimble in the action movie LOL. Rock climbing scene was a joke, super thin rope that apparently is around 1000 ft rope that snaps easily.

All in all, I did like the action / music / intensity and the dino chases.. heck, it was fun - which gave tribute back to the 1st movie to say the least. I still think the 1st reboot with Chris pratt was the best - given it made 10X the return. Cause after all the jokes, action, and script was good.

Thank goodness they didn't throw in any dumb boring love story in this movie. BTW, as much as the studio is all about Equality, Diveristy, Inclusion / woke etc... there were no asians in the movie, but yes to always a tough butch and a token black guy who gets killed, scientist with glasses and a vest.. check mark on that for sure!

God I remember watching Jurassic World in theatres and thinking a quarter of the movie was just a Mercedes ad.

Bullet Train Explosion - it's good and decent at the same time.
Script was decent, character building was a bit weak but I did like how Japan leveraged their own bullet train for a decent movie.

Summary - someone high jacks bullet train asking for ransom. the premise and how they diffuse was decent, it's just the character building was really weak. Even with the ending being a bit of a surprise, it wasn't at their best.

What ws cool was Tsuyoshi Kusanagi 草彅 剛 who played the train conductor became the lead of the movie. For once it's not a plane / train / boat high jacket and it HAPPENED to be a bomb squad specialist trying to diffuse the situation.
There was not a cop in sight, not the formula of (Non-Stop 2014 Liam Neeson; great movie btw) or die hard etc. (The Taking of Pelham 123 - John Travolta and Denzel Washington was shit).

Everything was logical, and seeing the bullet train and being a japenaes movie was great as a back drop.

PS: This is NOT the one with Brad Pitt.

緝盜 - never a thief

Running out of movies but this one was a china made with all HK actors. Heist movie which had a slight twist and decent plot. Didn't think it was the best esp given so many loop holes. 任達華Simon Yam is 70 years old and him speaking his own mandarin was really crap LOL.

Given it's a heist movie, it was worth a watch. Another side note, these female leads are alwayas wearing tank tops for no reason and I have to say, their face is so full of botox.

28 years later
what the heck was danny boyle thinking. I know he is dedicated to this genre and maybe cause he was the only the director in this, but the script was just crap.

They first 40 mins with setting the stage, character building was solid, great dad and son dynamic; good survival group, good 'fort' isolated island.. all was well. Until the 12 yr old son takes a detour to 'save' his mom to take her to see a 'doctor'.

I expected a bit more of a logical story. Oh, there were a few big penis cock shots of zombie which was totally unnessary LOL.

happy Gilmore 2.
yes I'm that old to remember watching the 1st one; heck even my wife wnated to watch.
The start really did blend it all in together. SO many cameos and the start was really solid, nostalgic and it worked. The only funny part I liked was the alcoholic bottles but that's about it.
It was only the very very last 10 mins of the battle of the two sport made it really subpar.

Ben stiller and Haley Joel Osment were the two whom my wife really recognized.

No high hopes but still nostalgic enough for me to finish.

Mickey 17 - 8.5/10

Not as bad as the reviews were. The tone is kind of weird, kinda humourous kind of dramatic. Very cool role for Robert Pattinson. Mark Ruffalo also did well. Kind of a combination of Snowpiercer and Okja.

My Old Ass - 9/10

With Aubrey Plaza, a coming of age drama of a girl turning 18 about to move into the big city. Very heartfelt and nostalgic. Really enjoyed and miss these kinds of movies, doesn't seem like they make these anymore.

will check this out despite it sound like a porno. never a fan of Aubrey Plaza cause of her resting bi*ch face, but she did exceptionally well in Safety Not Guaranteed (first movie I've watched with her) & also in The White Lotus. I know she started Parks and Recreation but I didn't watch it.

PS- didn't know she was married and her husband hung himself last yr... crazy.

East of Wall 8/10:

-received advanced screening passes to watch this film at the Cineplex theatre in International Village near Chinatown.

Overall, this is an emotionally gripping movie.

Good acting. -great cinematography.

The director uses light and angles well to capture to beautiful and rugged terrain of South Dakota. South Dakota is a beautiful state. The Badlands National Park is a sight to behold.

It's a good story of a broken family, financial burden of a single mother, family reconcilliation, and some amazing action scenes of horseback riding.

This film had its world premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival on January 24, 2025, where it won the Audience Award in the NEXT program

Agreed on the nostalgia and alcohol bottles. The tour players were surprisingly good in the movie for not being actors.

I think the final scenes were moreso poking fun at the Liv tour but I agree, it could’ve ended much better.

It was worth the watch but I would never tell anyone that they have to see it, unlike the original.

life of chuck.
Heard so much about this movie so I was happy to see this.

Few things - Loki from avengers (Tom Hiddleston) was a bit too big of a cast to have him in the show. I was told that he enjoys dancing whcih is why he took the movie. It took 50 days for that dance sequence. Small budget 11M woudl have done no justice for Stephen King (as it was based on his novel in 2020).
I'm a huge bachata and salsa dancer so I really enjoyed the dancing scene (even though it was 4 type of different dances).
It's a bit weird as it is a 3 part act and it's a reversal. so i wanted you all to know before u realize. wtf.
the sad part was that despite what it did it was powerful enough of an ending to leave the theatre in awe.

Script was wonky but worked. The middle story of chuck was the solid part which was played NOT by Hiddleston.

Not a movie, but Alien Earth, holy fuck 9/10. Might be one of the best shows I've seen this year by a long shot. You can tell this thing cost a lot of money to make.

Only 2 episodes out so far, but definitely give it a watch, top tier television.

Superman.

I did hear some great review how this superman is a bit more modernized, more chemistry with Lois, social media, media... well all that were great angles to put it into a movie but when the editing sucks, the movie falls apart.

First Superman which is not mighty powerful, he is tired, he eats, he bleeds, his arms will break... to me. that's a bit werid, but hey, I can look past that.

What I didn't really expect and couldn't look past were Hawkgirl, mr traffic , , Green Lantern (why did they make him look like jim carey in dumb and dumber). I get the whole Metamorpho part, and hey, the rescue scenes, the color, the cgi, the graphic were visually beautiful, just a bit too complex of a story for the general audience.

Let me back track. I did understand Nicholas Hoult playing Lex and he did his best. There were just so many things that fell apart. Multi dimension black hole, robots as servants, Daily planet has an airplane and all just takes a spaceship to publish news onsite (also, no idea why there is a blonde bimbo which was no needed); how super sits at home on a lazyboy chair to recharge... etc.. so so many weird unnecessary scenes, even the easter eggs at end of movie were .... totally useless. Guardians of the Galaxy was the only great script James Gunn did and directed but other than that... this script and directing was realyl weak.

I 100% understand they had to re cast with David Corenswet (they needed a more softer superman that's vulnerable to social media / public pressure of saving a country from war etc... Rachel Brosnahan as Lois was meh. I didn't sense any chemistry from anyone; even the dynamic between the mom and dad with superman was far fetched... I didn't get the emotional pull at all.

Ending was weak; then again, that's normal / typical fast and furious ending... and all of a sudden superman hit turbo, gets super strong and wins... gosh.. LOL.

Given a 2X return, it's a decent movie that's doing well esp with no big titles out. Sad that I can't recommend anyone to watch this and it was disappointment taking my family to go see what a good family movie turning out to be crap.

I'm so glad they aren't making another one... even stupid spins offs ... please don't.
