lol maybe you should have a cleaner Today screen...hahah TypeRNammer, if you want to be showy, then I think the E61i might be a better choice. It's slim and pretty, and built like a tank. Great performance, and you can NOT beat its battery life. That thing refuses to die! Where the TyTNs trump it is in 3G: the E61i only supports 3G UMTS in Europe and Asia, not here. :( |
So I need something in the $420-$480 price range.. Whats out there?! Preferably flip or candybar (has to be quadband) V8 comes to mind, but what else? :( |
The Nokia 6500 is pretty nice actually. Played with the Rogers Shine today (well, a dummy of it lol) and it SUCKS. Terrible slider, thick, and the joystick thingy is terrible. Saw the Touch today too. It's a dark grey (gunmetal-y) and no 3G. :( |
I'm using the 6500 slide right now :p But my co-worker saw it today and asked if I would sell it So im looking for something that I havent tried yet in case I decide to sell:D |
6500 Classic then. :D |

lol what? You said $300-$500, and the E61i is definitely in that range. :) Unless you want the new coloured ones...then those'll cost ya. :p |
flip phone recommend... im looking for a flip phone under 450 CDN.. i am newb when it comes to phones and prices... 1. how much does a sharp 903sh cost now a days? and where can i get them for the lowest price in Richmond? 2. So far, i only have the N76, Softbank 707SC in my list.. but what other phones would you guys recommend for under 450 CDN? Looking for a phone with mainly a good camera function.. thanks. |
K1, 706sc, E870, w300, z610, 6120, v8 |
^6120 is candybar :p |
theres a Recommend-me-a-phone thread just so u know :p 1. sharp 903 u cant get new for $450 in richmond (let alone anywhere else)..and there arent that many places that carry it anyways. 1.5. though you could always try RS B/S for a used one in decent condition? that would be the lowest price u can find here. 2. n76 i think some other user posted some negative feedback on it, 707sc was relatively good for me, very very slim and flashy, though the camera was only decent. n73? edit* nvm, i missed the part where he said he was lookin for flips. |
thanks physixx.. trying to get a new one since is for a gift... how much does a 707sc go for new? also, is the price difference now a days still big with HK vs canada pricing? I know a few friends in HK right now, and i guess i could ask them to get the phone for me there also.. |
Gunmetal E61i is so sexy! |

price differences probably vary with each model...and ive never actually bought a phone in HK before..but i'd say for most phones u cud save a good $50~$100 when u convert the currency (unless they're very new phones). again^ thats a guess, so i cant guarantee u anything :p EDIT: Phonemore has 707SC White for $400; dont know about other places. |
cool, thanks for the help .. i gues for the price, the 707sc wil be the best option for my budget ... thanks. |

Hong Kong Phones...which to buy I am planning a trip to Hong Kong. Anyone know what phones are the most popular and where to buy them? |
Yeah, that's the gunmetal one. Officially, it's called "Titanium". |
ok, cell experts, im looking for a slick minimalistic phone. - how much do you want to spend? around $400 or so... depends on how christmas gift buying goes... - what do you want to use it for? primarily for texting but sometimes talking as well (but primarily texting...) (haha sometimes talking... it IS a phone...) - what form factor do you like? sliders or flips... im done with candy bars... - is there a certain brand you like? well i like anything that's not too played out [played out ie. motorola's (they're everywhere!!1), LG's (everyone with a slider has a choco...) SEw810's(2 friends have it, not about to be the 3rd)...] what im looking at style wise is a softbank 707scii (black) cause of the slickness of it and the awesome simplicity, but lack of t9 is gonna decrease texting efficiency by 230% ±5% so boo that. though i will buy it eventually. just to stare at it. and prolly use it as a straight edge. or a really expensive paper weight. ive actually been eyeing the d900 as my prime slider choice since the beginning of summer but i saw the 707 just last month and ive been having decision making issues. basically, form vs function. and no iphones. not an apple fan, even though i have 2 ipods... (maybe thats why...) so any good phones to suggest that is pure killer in the looks department and can take on my computer for the function department? |
Take on your computer in the function department? That kinda depends on how crappy your computer is and how thick and ugly you want your phone to be. :p If you want texting, then a QWERTY keyboard might be what you want. The Nokia E61i, E61, and even the E62 might be good choices. All of them are relatively slim and have a powerful OS. However, they're not flips or sliders.... If you want a slider, then an HTC device might be what you want. My friend got an HTC Vox over the summer (dopod branded), and I've played with it and it seems pretty good. Looks like a candybar, but slide it sideways and you get a full keyboard. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTC_S710 http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/5...887b47alp9.jpg If you don't mind just using T9, the Samsung U600 ain't that bad. I still think it looks fantastic, but it's a bit on the slow side in terms of the interface, especially in the camera app. Otherwise, it's a fantastic phone. Loved it when I had it, but it was just too slim for me lol and went back to the Sharp 903SH. |
haha yeah i dont think there's any phone that can take my computer too. but hey it never hurts to see what the experts can come up with... anyway thanks for the suggestions. ive actually looked into the u600 before as well and came to the conclusion that a d900 would be better. as for the htc's and the other phones, im not actually looking for a phone with a full QWERTY pad. i mean i may have come off as a guy whos gonna need it, but i havent had my day in the sun with other phones yet to be handling these PDA-style phones. one of these days though. i mean, i dont need a keyboard to type "where you at"... thats a waste of the other letters... kekeke thanks for the quick recommend though. |
lol 230% +/- 5%? how did you come up with that? |
I need some opinions, which of these phones are better overall Softbank 707SC or Sharp 903SH? I'm stuck with these two choice for my next phone. At the moment I'm currently using U600. (can someone please link some review sites for those two phones) thanks, |
Uh reviews? Google will give you more reviews than you'll ever need. :p Personally I would go with the Sharp 903SH, just because for the camera and the general awesomeness of it. Have had like at least 4 or 5 of those things, and still keeping one, just in case. :D |
i'd say 903sh due to better resale value. |
