Hi guys I will be visiting Hong Kong next week and I a currently using a Nokia 6300. If I am going to buy a bar phone or non flip phone from Hong Kong, which model of Nokia would you guys recommend me to get ? I only need something with good reception here and also as small as my Nokia 6300. Please kindly advise. |

N95 replacement?? well after a few months of using N95 im starting to get bored of it and i wana change it to something else. Any suggestions? I cant realli think of anything decent with the features similar to n95. 5mp camara, stereo speakers, gps, wifi :( |
n82 k850 hahaha... n95 8gb? |
n82 is ugly haha, k850 doesnt have any special features besides camara, and n95 8gb is the same as n95 not much diff |
^true that haha cant really think of another phone thats easy to get that suits the descriptions though :p just turn around and keep ur n95 lol |
you should get an HP iPAQ rx5900 and duct tape a sony t-70 together. FTW! |

Came out end of September or so. I currently live in Taipei and went to the Nokia store near 101 building last week and still none in stock. I'm going to get it in March when I go HK (hopefully the the price to drop a bit by then). I believe the going price is around $350US. Hope that helps. |
-How much do you want to spend? $ 300 to $ 600 (will go higher for the right phone) - What do you want to use it for? Talk, music & camera (1.2 to 2 mp is fine) - What form factor do you like? Flip or slider (smaller the better Razr size is good) - Is there a certain brand you like? I have pretty much used every brand and have no preference. I am currently using Telus Moto Razr V3C (yes I am a cool white guy with a Razr :) but am switching to Fido. The only major futures that I require are USB charging via mini USB on the phone (very important) Can sync with MS Outlook, this way I have only one database for contacts (Outlook – phone – Palm TX) Bluetooth is also required (for voice not music) It must be a good phone, I am tired of dropped / missed call that the Razr/Telus is known for. The best phone that I had was the LG 4600, it was a work horse no dropped calls, no missed called and good reception. |
Palm TX FTW. :p I can't really think of many phones that use miniUSB to charge except all those HTC devices, which really aren't sliders or flips, or some of the newer Nokias (N95 is the only one that comes to mind at the moment with miniUSB). If you want guaranteed syncs with Outlook, a Windows Mobile device will do nicely, and either the older TyTN or the newer TyTN II from HTC will suit your needs. Both have fantastic connectivity options and when I had the TyTN 1 I never had any issues with reception or dropped calls, and this was before the 3G rollout on Rogers/Fido! It'll be even better now. |
i also reccomend the TyTN 1. the only issue i had with it was because i had a messed up call key and that it was a little slow for my needs. if you want something smaller there is always the HTC touch. |
Ok I've been looking at phones for a while and need some expert advice on what to choose. The three phones that I have been looking at are: 1) Apple Iphone - Price: 399 USD (+time to unlock) 2) Nokia N95 8 Gig - Price: 670 CAD (Made in Finland Vers) 3) Nokia E61i - Price: 400 CAD I know its like comparing a banana, orange and an apple!. Go Banana! If I were to put the functions that are most important to me in order they would go like this: 1) Ease of Use 2) Good Reception 3) Surfing the Web (Wifi) 4) Answering Emails 5) Listening to music 6) Taking photos I don't have a data plan, but I do have the unlimited fido plan. I have been using a Sony Ericsson t210 or something for the longest time and now I really need a phone! Any advice would be apperciated |
Ease of Use: IMHO the iPhone takes that. Good Reception: Either Nokia, but the iPhone ain't that bad, just not as good as the Nokias. Surfing the Web: iPhone's number one, with the E61i a little behind it. Keyboards FTW. Answering Emails: See above. Listening to Music: Not the E61i. Taking Photos: Again, not the E61i. Its camera blows. |
if you really wanted somthing good i would just have Kardboard follow you around and make the calls for you. that way you would always know you would have the latest phone and it can't get any easier than "bitch call my house now!!!" lol |
*totaly off topic* ^ how do you have so much time on RS while having two young boys? lol |
