What's a Good portable GPS?

Sorry if this is in the incorrect place.

I'm looking for a portable GPS that is reliable of course. Thinking of driving to LA and Vegas and would for sure need help.

Any input will be appreciated. Thanks.

tom tom doesnt have the street names as far as i know

the garmin 250 tells u to turn " in _ miles"....it wont say the street name, but it shows up the screen....i went for the garmin for his reason
plus i heard that tom tom breaks down easier (not sure if there is any truth to this)

250W u can get for 230 @ amazon.com..if u get it thru accessories.com on amazon there is no tax added for some reason
not sure if u can get it shipped to canada though

Tomtoms have an inferior mapping system. The Garmins are much better. I have a 250, and it's great. I didn't want all the bells & whistles like Bluetooth and shit, so it's perfect for me. Nice and compact.

garmin nuvi 250 doesnt have text to voice recognition. so it'll just say:
"in 200 meters, turn left"

get the nuvi 350, it has voice recognition, so it'll say
"in 200 meters, turn left on main street"
that way you dont have to take ur eyes off the road to see which street to turn on.

also order it from www.adorama.com i got mine for $270 shipped rush 2 day delivery.
thats same price as a Nuvi 200 on sale at future shop.
