Sushi Garden (new location by Staples on Lougheed)

The service, ambiance, freshness of food are all much better @ this location than the one across metrotown. I will definitely be back! :D

The best Laksa I've ever. I go there every week. I only wish it was an actual restaurant (even a ghetto one) so I could eat in.

Lousy beef tongue and salmon sashimi, ebi mayo drenched in mayo. Rest of dishes were average. Good portions.

i'm surprised by this since nanchuu is my regular izakaya spot. i think they serve one of the better gyu-tan's in vancouver.

Phil@rise 03-21-2010 02:26 PM

Wow a lot of fast food places getting high marks by some of you guys.
I think you need to get out more, sample some nicer places if A an dubbs or Harveys are a 9 then whats a 10? Pizza hut?
You don't need to spend a ton of dough for good quality tasty eats.

mako 03-21-2010 05:45 PM

^
i think you misunderstand the concept of this thread
its called "where's the last place you ate at and rate it", not "rate the last Michelin starred restaurant you ate at"
who are you to tell me that my burger at Harveys wasnt good and tasty

the ratings are just based on the satisfaction of the last meal you had, be it at home, at mcdonalds or at gothams

if you had a hotdog at 7-11 and it blew your mind, go right ahead and give it a 10/10

RollingStone 03-21-2010 05:51 PM

Mezbaan Indian Fusion on Kingsway (near Boundary)

This is the second or third time I've been here for their 7.99 lunch buffet. Very good food for the price imo, the food needs to be kept hotter though.

I kind of agree with Phil@rise, actually. I personally feel fast food places shouldn't be rated in here IMHO, as seriously, who is really satisfied with eating at a fast food joint? I'm fine with other people doing though.

mako 03-21-2010 08:34 PM

im just saying everyone's got different tastes/opinions
people just come here to share what they think

did you try that new burger at [place]? yeah it was pretty good or no it sucked

Wow all it took was one post and moderator intervention for this thread to go to shit. Thanks.

Asakusa Sushi

Pretty good sushi and great value. I spent $15 and came out so full I could barely walk. :D

I give it a solid 8.5/10

I wasn't intervening...just stating my own opinion. I didn't write one could or could not do anything.

I beg differ on the atmosphere. Really, there's not much to it if you think about it. It's in Richmond.

Culture_Vulture 03-21-2010 09:46 PM

Manzo on Alexandra Road.
Overpriced, horrible music, horrible parking.
Otherwise the food is just like Ebisu's on Robson.

4/10.

NimbeeTT 03-21-2010 09:51 PM

Lupo, in downtown

totally 10/10
I rarely goto fancy restaurants and this was for sure the best food i've ever had. Of course there's better, but I have yet to try. Appy, main course and dessert. The creme brulee and teramisu was heavenly.

Sgt_Koopa 03-21-2010 10:45 PM

Our Place Cafe on 2205 Manitoba, Vancouver. Awesome good. Classic Burger is still my favorite there. They use a Bake & Grill technique on the beef patties. Beef patties are made fresh each morning (whatever that means), but sure tastes good.

I tend to order gyutan when I can and this was the first time I've had it where the texture and appearance was like brisket.
