I always go there but it was my first time eating the "black pepper chicken rice". That black pepper sauce is pretty horrible; girlfriend's apple curry was good as usual though

Jules French Bistro: 8.5/10 Great food, my only complaint was they used farmed Atlantic Salmon for the Salmon Carpacchio. Ugh.

After driving by this place everyday while they were renovated it finally opened and I finally went. There was much hype about this place from Italian people my gf knows. It turned out to be one of our worst experiences ever.

We had a reservation and went in for a table of 3. We gt this dinky 2 person table and they put a chair on the end making us squeeze into it when there were 2 other 4 person tables left. But no because Tony fucking Parsons might be coming tonight so they saved it for him and also had some other lame excuse for the other free table. After being seated no waitress comes to greet us or offer us water at all. 10 mins goes by and we already know what we want yet we still don't know who the fuck our server is until we finally wave down this guy who walks by and glady helps us out. Turns out he's the bartender and he doesn't even take orders but was nice enough to help us out.

Now at this point you're supposed to get bread which we confirmed because every fucking table in the joint had it. We didn't get ours until we finally asked our server who by the way finally showed up 20 mins after we got seated. At this point we were thinking ok maybe the food will at least balance out this shitty experience so far but wrong. The food was avg at best and I might be a bit nice here.

Skip to the end we hollered down a server and asked if there was a manager we can speak to and he said we can talk to him. He was apologetic blah blah blah and offered us free shit in which we denied. He explained to us that they are we aware the server we got was weak but his excuse was well somebody has to have her as their server and unfortunately it was us. Unacceptable! To top it all off when our server came back with our bill (we paid by credit card) she gave us no pen to sign the receipt in which we just used our own.

Never going there ever again!

Similar experience in terms of service. Food was good to above average.

Tiramisu was very well done.

Would I go back? Nahhhhh. Would I recommend? Nah.
