Beautiful megane RS caught my eye, it's a shame we don't get the scirocco, megane, or the astra here :(

A nice M3 with matching seats and brake calipers, nice te37 + some CF trim here and there, looked clean

IMO it seems like every car here has a tacky set of aftermarket wheels that usually look too small/out of place. Saw an alphard with Superleggeras earlier lol

TRDood 04-23-2011 08:38 AM

I see a lot of RSers are in HK right now. Renting a car to cruise around would be so awesome. I hate taking public transit. Grrrr...

Speaking of which, it's Sunday tomorrow. I really want to see Hyde's sunday exotic cruises!

Is it just me or am I seeing a lot more higher displacement/higher output cars in HK? besides the big luxo 7 series, s class etc. it seems like the smaller cars ie. R32 golf, STi, S4, C63 are selling a lot better than they used to. It's not hard to find cars in HK >300hp anymore which I thought is strange.

@trdood lol who is from RS is in HK right now? I'm freakin' alone and none of my friends came for break :alone:

TRDood 04-24-2011 12:37 AM

RFlush will be in HK on tues. I am coming back to Vancouver that day though.

I hate HK. Too many people in the MTR, streets, no friends to party or eat with. Go to a high end restaurant - for one please. :alone: called everywhere for Canucks game and no one wants to open at 730am.

How do you guys see there nice cars? I don't feel like creeping into mall parking lots, none of my relatives have cars, MTR is pitch black, buses are slow as shitz.

It's totally not cool to drive in HK.

Unless you live in New Territory, the traffic lights in the city are pissing people off. I do know they have sensors at each intersection, but it doesn't seem to work in the day time. Stop go Stop go, no turn right, go around the block, no turn left. Fucking hate the city planners here.

Was it a white one?

essel 04-24-2011 03:10 AM

I'm heading to HK on Tuesday, can't wait to see all these sick cars! Most of the ones posted are in parking lots though, are those mall parking lots or private underground ones?

Yeah I know what you mean, by the time you realize this is a right turn only lane it's too late >.< I was looking for a restaurant on hart ave in TST ytd and circled it 3 times only to realize hart forks out in 2 directions...
Lol my dad picked up a cheap used LWB S500 a few months ago and what a PITA in the parking lots, although drive to yuen long from tsuen wan ytd was nice. Seems like the newer malls have pretty decently spaced parking lots so it's alright but the S is probably one of the worst cars to have :/

haha half of the alphards on the road are white

Trying to understand the mentality of putting money on a nice set of wheels here, often see POS old corollas etc. (cars worth under 60k HKD for sure) with a nice set of volks or rays that'd cost about the same if brand new. Is there just a really cheap place to get these wheels or are they just being grey imported with those wheels on? or are they just knockoffs? lol

My one spot from yesterday, @ tin shui wai, I think it's just primered or something haha looks good though with some thick amg monoblocks

asian_XL 04-24-2011 07:04 PM

aftermarket wheels don't come cheap in HK, I have not yet found places that sell or buy used rims, people like to pay their wheels at MSRP. What amaze me more is Brembo/AP racing calipers on stock rims or minivans or slow cars. WHYYYYYY????

rims are cheap...especially used and 80% of the aftermarket rims ppl buy in Hk are fake.

and most AP you see on the street are fake

Whats fucked up is that ppl just use under sized and conservative offset wheels.
I wanted to order some aggressive offset wheels and the guy at the shop just told me it wont fit and refuse to order.

ilvtofu 04-25-2011 02:12 PM

My spots for today

Asian XL this is like what you said haha, these are rainbow sparkle te37 on an alphard, and brembo calipers LOL! Mind you they might just be a fake brembo cover. Sorry about the poor quality cellphone pic

Do you happen to know where to source these fake wheels? HK still hasn't caught on to hellaflush eh?

.Renn.Sport 04-25-2011 03:15 PM

real brembos' off DC5, STI and EVO are cheap... all under 5k HKD used. custom making an adapter to fit these caliper for whatever car cost next to nothing.

every wheel shop in HK sells fake. 99% OEM wheels you see in shops are replicas. you gotta go to an authorized dealer (OEM or aftermarket) to get reals

car modding in HK never follow any international trends. The ppl that mod used JDM cars are just MK fags that knows nothing about cars. let alone hella flush that just caught on the past 2 yrs or so. tbh... people in china have better knowledge in the scene then hongers.

90% of the mods you see ppl have are cosmetic, and the 10% are rich ppl that put everything possible aftermarket parts catalog in their car.

.Renn.Sport 04-25-2011 03:19 PM

I just came back from HK. Got to catch some games at Grand Central, drink at various places and shop a lot. I had a good time and look forward to going back again someday.

ilvtofu, be careful when seeing what appear to be high output cars. Some of them are just styled like the C63's but are actually very low displacement motors. Saw what looked like a S63 and it turned out to be an S350. Same with a C63 which oddly didn't have that V8 rumble as it passed.

That being said, there are a lot of high output cars there. I noticed that big body sedans are the popular cars in HK. S-Class, 7 series etc. Also, spotted a lot of Phantoms and Ghosts. Have some pics that I will post later.

Haha I know what you mean about the MK fags, typical VR4/skyline types, yesterday at lau fau shan saw some fag in r33 try to drift around the roundabout, lot of tire squeal, no angle/power LMAO. Observing the driving habits of most of the people in the city it seems like although they change lanes a little crazily compared to van, no one really drives fast and everyone goes around the same speed.

Yeah, gas is a freakin rip off here too, my S500 is about 1300HKD for a tank of gas... The car was only 50,000HKD!

Lol my friend took the e55 badge and replaced it with e280 and trolls people who try to race him

KK motors imported the One 77.... I havn't got a chance to see it yet. Apparently a mainlander from SCC brought it for 47 million RM with his black card, while having dinner with his friends. His friend brought a Gumpert Apollo, so he gotta buy the One 77

tofu1413 04-25-2011 11:22 PM

but arent one 77 custom/ tailored made for the buyer..?
