I drive in the semi-manual mode now so that the sounds are much less and you can control more power in the car. Try driving it in semi-manual :) |

from no.8 pier to kowloon station only took around 20 seconds!! |
We went to IFC mall and found our way to the underground parking lot. The next group of cars we saw by just walking for 2 minutes in the underground. There was plenty more underground, but we were in a hurry and had to make dinner. Either way, worth the detour! Coming through the door, a nice 599 http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000344.jpg I'm not sure if they were going for a GTO look with the black roof http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000345.jpg Old Rolls stretch http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000346.jpg Kitted 599 http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000347.jpg A pair of matching Rolls http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000348.jpg Phantom http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000350.jpg I believe this is a Brabus V12 G-Wagon http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000351.jpg R34 Skyline http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000352.jpg Phantom, LS600HL and one of those awesome vans (sorry I get all the models mixed up) http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000353.jpg Needless to say, a lot of money down here. I wish I had more time to explore. Kev |
Back outside - pardon the marginal photos. I was often riding a tour bus or taxi when I snapped some of these. I found that S2000s are very rare here. Only saw 2 on the entire trip http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000360.jpg Another Land Rover. Totally impractical here but full of awesome http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000369.jpg Flying Spur - very common here http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000370.jpg Even more common, however, are S-Classes. They are everywhere. It was easily the most common car in HK outside of taxicabs. http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000371.jpg Saw these within a minute going the opposite way towards the tunnel to Kowloon: California http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000372.jpg Followed by an R8 http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000373.jpg Followed by an SLS http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000374.jpg Followed by an RS5 http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000375.jpg Outside Ocean Park - Quattroporte and RR http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000376.jpg At Stanley, a really cool little Mini http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000392.jpg Kev |
Went to Macau for a couple of days. I now know how to spot Mainlanders. The car scene in Macau is a little different. Nearly every sport compact has a bodykit. Most are otherwise totally stock, but they will have a full kit on. Strange. Some interesting cars in Macau: LS600HL on a side street near the cathedral/fortress. Odd to see such a large car in a sea of scooters. http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000433.jpg Nice EVO http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000443.jpg Parked outside the Grand Lisboa hotel - we went here for one of the largest buffets in the world supposedly. It was presented well but the variety was so/so. http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000445.jpg Panamera going by http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000461.jpg Back to HK CLS http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000517.jpg Ghost waiting outside an expensive mall. http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000520.jpg Driver is inside waiting http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000521.jpg Near Times Square Gallardo with plate "Patrick" waiting a light next to a Flying Spur. I saw the "Patrick" car again in LKF a couple of days later. http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000540.jpg C63 AMG http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000543.jpg New CLS at the Mercedes store http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000544.jpg LP560 SL near the Ikea in Causeway Bay http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000548.jpg The front wheel was really curbed up :( http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000549.jpg Kev |
Went to a motorcycle shop with my buddies as they wanted gear. I think it was in Mongkok, but I was pretty hung over and forgot haha. M5 http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000561.jpg Walking by an apartment complex, I spotted this M5. It had a widebody kit and a matte grey-ish finish. Very striking. Unfortunately I couldn't get any closer to it http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000560.jpg Civic Type-R - These look and sound incredible. Please Honda bring your proper R models here! http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000562.jpg Another Ghost http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000567.jpg Cool-looking Beetle http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000569.jpg Sciroccos and GTIs are really common here. Lots of them modded http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000570.jpg I really liked these backup lights as crappy as they may look. Makes parallel parking at night a lot easier and may prevent a curbed wheel or two http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000575.jpg Interesting sunroof set-up http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000576.jpg Another C63, pretty popular here. http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000677.jpg Loving the older EVO's http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000791.jpg Another Panamera http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000792.jpg Kev |
Last set Had to go back to the motorcycle shops. Saw a kitted Scirocco outside a motorsports shop http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000627.jpg Parked in front of it was a Veilside FD like the one from F&F. Fucking awesome to see in person!! http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000629.jpg http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000628.jpg Outside Langham Place http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000664.jpg Hit up LKF too many nights. I loved the atmosphere there Flying Spur navigating the crowded streets http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000645.jpg 911 Turbo on one of the upper streets http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000650.jpg Evora parked right behind it. http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000649.jpg http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000648.jpg Beautiful F430 on one of the lower streets http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000591.jpg So striking in that yellow with the optional BBS wheels http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000590.jpg Totally hammered, we went to some late night eating place in LKF and my honger friend said these people were on some show. They looked like average people to me but meh I was drunk enough. Not hard to guess who I am haha. http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000602.jpg Got back home and felt like this guy, such an exhausting but fun trip http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000475.jpg That being said. I miss HK. Way better nightlife, transportation system and just more to do overall. Vancouver seems so boring and pretentious now. That being said, it's only a place to live when you are in your 20's and 30's. I wouldn't want to start a family there. I'll be back soon!! http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1000793.jpg Kev |
lol nice pics kev, should make a side trip to china and see the awesome BYD's and knock off cars there |
Johnny!! How was NY? Haha. After experiencing Macau, I'd be kind of nervous seeing China. Although I realize a lot of the mainlanders in Macau are "new money". Kev |

If you are wondering what "The Voice" is, it's like American Idol, but in Hong Kong, and all the finalists sound like the horrible contestants on the audition shows of AI. The judges never say anything bad, because if they did, that is all they would be able to do. |
great pics Kev, it was great meeting you at Grand Central for the Canucks game! http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5023/...0697d995b8.jpg this is a kitted 599 :) |
Thanks mx100! Pleasure meeting you too. Was a great feeling to hang out with other Vancouverites and catch the playoff games there. A memory I will never forget. dL and Skinnypupp, thanks for the clarification on who they are. They were good sports letting us take a photo with them. I think that was at 2 or 3 in the morning haha. And yes, that's absolutely a California. Total brain fart on my part. Kev |
