I thought the Kings played us well. Gave our D-men no room to shoot and blocked a lot of shots. Can't win em all. |

They don't have a forward that cracks the league's top 30. They don't have a well established defense (they're up & coming at best) and they sure as hell do not have all-star goaltending. Yet they manage to get 2 PP goals, a perfect PK, and Gauthier Fitzpatricking a 2nd goal. Canucks were shit last night but I don't think it's for a lack of effort. Seems like the effort was there but their plays were scrambly. The only 2 goals we potted where lucky ones from Burrows & Pyatt. Seems like we're back to our defensive game reminiscent of last season and of the Dec - Feb months. The only time AV allows our forwards to open up their game offensively is if either we're down a goal or 2, or we're in the last 10 mins of the game, down a goal or 2. |

Yes, they had 2 lucky goals, but they had quite a few unlucky shots off the post. I guess things just weren't going their way yesterday. Hopefully they pick and up regroup for Anaheim and win that game, then go and stomp LA at home. :D |
Anyone want the Luongo helmet thats from Mcdonalds? I'll trade for a Malkin one! lol :) |

lol, holy moly.. that's friggen scary. Fluke or can he do it again and again?! I bet his sideshow guy was hit in the face numerous times before he made that shot! |
Ughhhhh |

Canucks didn't play that well the first two periods but you can't deny they dominated in the 3rd. |
I just got a call from team1040 about the tix They're for the March 19th game vs the Blues Section 330 R7, gotta drive down to team1040 studio to pick up the tix :p |
If you break down the game last night, they had a very good start. If Pyatt could have finished on that pass from Wellwood, the Nuck's would have been up 1-0 and been in full control. That being said, once Luongo let in that bad goal, the kings had the nucks on their heels which led to the PP and their second goal. In the second, after Burrow's scored against the flow, you figure that would have sparked the Nuck's, but it didn't. Mats took a bad penalty that led to the third goal. In all, the Nucks were shorthanded 6 times, which means the twins and the RPM line didn't get a lot of icetime as a unit. It wasn't until the third when the Nuck's regained their composuer and played better as a team and got all those chances. But you can still see some weaknesses in their game. For 1 Pyatt's goal doesn't take away from his uselessness. There was a time when the Canuck's had the puck in the Kings end and the Kings players were getting tired. Instead of dumping the pump into the corner to start the cycle, he goes to the point and tries to finess his way around a King's player and gets checked off of the puck. The Canuck's 3rd line is their weakest line if they cannot put the puck into the net. Bernier is strong and is playing well. Wellwood is getting some chances but not finishing. Pyatt just looks totally lost out there. If the Nuck's play against Chicago in the first round, and the third line has to play against Kane and Towes, we are in trouble. |

We were bound to lose one. We've been on an absolute tear the last 13 games or so. As long as the Canucks are putting in the effort I don't mind them losing close ones. |
Good news; Flames about to drop their third straight, Minny and Dallas both losing. Bad news: All 3 teams playing vs Eastern conf teams...Jackets winning 1-0 vs Boston, Oilers up by a goal vs Montreal and Nashville winning 1-0 vs the Caps. |
