Except this is completely not the situation that Demitra was in. He is a left handed shot on the left side of the ice, and his body was in front of the goal...

Armind 03-15-2009 09:32 PM

Brodeur, I know you're fiening tomorrow. Win that fuckin' game!

Well, had he practiced this, he would have scored. Burrows was able to score around the same area.

That or he could have pulled the puck towards himself to get a better angle on that shot.

Yes, i agree. So why did SN show that guy instead of the broo haa haa involving Burrows.

Harvey Specter 03-15-2009 09:50 PM

Lol, Ok I’m so confused right now…why is it a big deal if SN showed the host? Maybe it was just an error on part of the camera person??

the 8 game streak overrr

PLUS THE 9 GAME HOME WINNING STREAKKK

Tommy was speculating in the pre-game that this could be the first time in league history that a team has followed a 9-game home losing streak with a 9-game home win streak :)

I'm not disagreeing that it was a makeable shot... and yeah, Burrows shot was very similar indeed.

But the shot you're talking about is actually easier to make, I think, because it would be easier to see the angle.

Given Demitra's positioning, I don't think he could have improved the angle much, unless maybe a quick pull to the backhand, but by then Raycroft probably would have recovered.

Wow. So impressive. Flames are only 5 points ahead of the nucks, who are now only 2 pts behind Chicago.
Between 6th place and 13th is a 10 pt spread and 7th to 13th is only a 6 pt spread. This is a very interesting way to end the season.

You are right. It's not an easy shot for Demitra especially since he had to reach out to get the puck. i think he would have had the time to quickly pull the puck towards himself to get a better angle on that shot.

Oh well. Still a good game.

You missed the point, or purposely avoiding it.

Either way, the moment has passed....

"I guess when you're looking back it means you've played a lot of games, got a few points," said Ohlund. "I've never been a high-scoring or a high-point guy but I guess it means you've done a decent job."

We also have a game in hand on the Flames, and the Hawks have one on us...
