Awesome bounce back from those 2 weak ass goals that Luongo let in. Its about time 1 of the Sedins stepped up when needed.

mako 03-13-2009 09:02 PM

Luongo couldnt be faulted much on that first one
Frolov was allowed to walk right in there and for the 2nd time too

the Kopitar goal was not good though

Harvey Specter 03-13-2009 09:13 PM

Lu has been giving up a lot of bad goals of late, hopefully that trend stops but that been said he usually bounces back right away and makes some big stops like he did tonight in the last 2 mins of the game.

wahyinghung 03-13-2009 10:11 PM

Good game and Monster Strikes Again !

Double edged sword. That keeps CBJ the same number of points behind the Canucks.

Actually, nm, I take that back. I should know every player's face.
Because strangely, I acutally do, besides some of the guys that barely ever play, or some of the guys that are called up or sent down on a gamely basis.

good job? i call it as i see it. its not just from this instance, ive seen you ask questions that any typical hockey fan would know the answer to. its not like hes some obscure player either, hes our backup goalie and you dont forget an ugly mug like that.

personally, id rather see the hawks win. keep the blue jackets behind us because 4th and 5th are essentially the same come playoff time.

Actually, it was the first half. :)

Luongo's gotta stop letting in these soft goals. When the playoff comes, it's goals like Kopitar's that can deflate/turn a series around. Remember the Lidstrom goal from center ice during the playoffs couple of years ago? we were up 2-0 in the series, then DET came back because of that one play, it deflated our team, they eventually took that series. It can very well happen to us this playoffs if he doesn't tighten things up.

Bobby Lou's gradually earning a reputation of letting a soft goal in per game. You gotta change that, Lou!

LUUUUUUUU 03-13-2009 11:13 PM

yea but that was Dan Cloutier... this is LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Somebody had to get the 2 points, and I'm glad CBJ got the 2 points without giving 1pt to the Chicago.
Mathematically, if Canucks win all their games, it doesn't really matter how many games the Jackets win then. But we need help in getting the Blackhawks to lose...

but in the end, yeah, 4th and 5th place is almost the same.

I know some of you guys are gonna call me jumping off the bandwagon or whatever for saying this.
But I'm sure I'm not the only one in here beginning to think Lu's overrated. Softies and can't stickhandle the puck if his life depended on it.... But at the same time, I'm just glad he's not like any of the past goalies Canucks have had. But I really wish he started playing like he did, the first season he was here.

I'm glad you said it first. Most people here will crucify anyone who disses Luuuu. I never saw Luongo as the god of goaltending. He is good, that's for sure, but I rank him lower than a handful of goalies. Good thing the team is putting them in - they don't have to rely on him as much as they used to. Plus, he's a little too emo. When things go bad, he kind of loses it. Then again, when things go well, that same intensity works in his favour.

tired from playing hockey

Lu still has some of the best rebound control of any goalie in the league, which IMO makes up for his sub-par stick handling skills.
