Jesus, I wonder what Bruins fans would do were Roberto Luongo to give his stick to a boy in the stands. Would they maul the kid?

hotjoint 04-17-2009 10:34 AM

They mauled the kid in Vancouver too if I remember correctly..

It is sad to see grown men to be so selfish that when Luongo gives his stick to a kid that they all become such douchebags that they grab and try to steal the stick when it is CLEARLY for the kid.

will the game be available online tonight? no access to a tv tonight...

if so where? thanks!

AzNightmare 04-17-2009 11:28 AM

heh, Havlat's a star player too. So on the other hand, the league should be protecting them too from cheap shots from other players.

Don't have a direct link but look around cbcsports.ca. I believe they stream the games.

AzNightmare 04-17-2009 11:33 AM

lol, wtf, how did that guy take kovalev's stick? Did his stick knob go through the camera hole in the glass or something?

That's obsurd....so if Sundin does that (because he's tall) and leans in with his elbow on the faceoff into one of their players it's okay??

what the hell..

listen to the audio clip Colin Campbell had about the non-suspension..

Pronger used that excuse in 2007 and couldn't get away with it
but then again Pronger is known as a dirty player

If I'm Chicago I'm returning the favor on the opening faceoff since it seems only acts in the last couple minutes get you a suspension. "Hey Jerome, have some elbow".

That generally doesn't happen here though, and the one instance I saw it occur, Luongo directed the crowd to give the kid his goalie stick by pointing at the kid. And from what I saw, even the crowd wanted the stick relinquished and given to the kid.

But c'mon. To get into a tug-of-war match with an NHL star, and the owner of the stick himself. Kinda makes you wonder the limit of courtesy some people will extend to a child all for the sake of minor personal gain.

You should be asking this question BEFORE you bought the tickets.

mickz 04-17-2009 01:18 PM

There is no way to verify that the tickets are legit unless you bought them from the Prime Seat Club. The most you could do is ask the ticket seller for his Canucks Card and Driver's License and take down some information should the deal so sour. If the person wasn't Seasons I wouldn't buy the tickets.

FiveDime 04-17-2009 01:35 PM

i think ill be fine... just sketch buying tix of CL

MR_BIGGS 04-17-2009 01:38 PM

Mike Cammalleri did not get suspended because he was penalized on the play..I think if you look back over the season, when the play is called by the refs, the NHL does not want to undermine the refs by calling additional penelties/suspensions.

It looks vicious - but its not that far off then a glove in the face / face washing etc..yes i know it was a elbow - but the ref called it so i think that took care of it..

Before I thought he should get suspended... - and I still think he should - but I understand why he didn't and I"m fine with that...Will make for a good Game 2 se if they Hawks jusy focus on hockey or scrums after the whistle

keep an eye on the guy in the white banging the glass

Hahaha that's hilarious! There's a scrum on the ice, and meanwhile Kovalev is struggling with a fan with the boards & glass in between the two of them. :haha:

mickz 04-17-2009 02:02 PM

How does Kovy's stick even end up fitting between the glass? If I was the fan I'd want the stick too... AK27 + composite blade will run like $200. More since it's Kovys!

It was through the photographer's opening they have in the glass.

A nice pic of Kovalev and the guy playing tug-o-war with the stick and a Youtube vid of it here

Not really racist! 04-17-2009 02:36 PM

props to the fan
