no because sundin likes to start plays from down low. the sedins like to make plays around the half boards and the corner. the sedins need a body in front so they can make the cross ice passes

Hondaracer 04-16-2009 03:36 PM

great on jim pattison to buck up and rent an HD truck for the games in St.Louis CBC is fucking pathetic to have it come to this though..

and frankly im pretty fuckin sick of hearing people all over constantly talk about how Sundin is "underperforming" or not living up to expectation etc.

GUESS WHAT PEOPLE, SINCE HE'S BEEN HERE WE'VE BEEN WINNING!

the guy has a presence on the ice few players do, he has the ability to change a game, he's a big body that can play tough along the boards, and he takes pressure off the sedins

he only cost the team money, thats it

but i guess wins arent enough eh?

Werd. That's the biggest intangible he brings to the team. Defensive focus is not solely on the Sedin line anymore.

Can't please people man...

They are going to argue that even if it was only money, it is costing them 5.5 million!

His fiancee passed away and his fiancee's mom isn't doing too hot either..

So will he be coming back? Most likely not.

Read the last line.

"So far, so good on that front for Johnson and the Canucks as they look to take a 2-0 series lead Friday night at GM Place."

What's wrong with that?

that's just so sad thats for sure. Hopefully he comes back but I dont see how he could.

Salary jokes aside. Sundin actually isn't doing too bad. Yes he's slower but he's still taking shots, key faceoffs, and working the play down low. As mentioned before, he usually draws the better, bigger defensemen from the other team taking pressure off the Sedin line.

Blues fan facing legal trouble after writing in Oshie for mayor
By Greg Wyshynski

At 22 years old, St. Louis Blues rookie sensation T.J. Oshie doesn't meet the age requirements to be mayor of St. Louis. But that didn't stop a fan blog called Vote 4 Oshie from organizing a hastily crafted campaign to have fans write in Oshie's name for last Tuesday's mayoral elections around Missouri.

Alas, it would appear that he fell a few votes short. But the campaign was so inspirational that a Blues fan actually wrote Oshie's name on a ballot in last Tuesday's O'Fallon, Mo. mayoral election and then proudly photographed it before having the image posted on Vote 4 Oshie.

Surprise, surpise: This is all actually quite illegal, according to county election officials. From the Post-Dispatch:

The punishment is more than just a few minutes in the penalty box: Willfully sharing the contents of a completed ballot is a class-four election offense in Missouri, carrying up to a year in jail and a $2,500 fine.

The St. Charles County Election Authority is taking a hard stance against using the ballot box to display fan loyalty. The Oshie voter "violated the law, and I'm going to prosecute," county elections director Rich A. Chrismer said. "They may have thought the photo was cute, but it was very serious."

St. Louis County elections director Joseph Goeke told the Dispatch that the regulation was written back in 1977 to discourage the buying or selling of votes. County officials said they intended to contact Vote 4 Oshie's site administrator in an attempt to find out who photographed the O'Fallon mayoral ballot.

Write-in votes aren't usually counted unless an individual has declared his or her candidacy, but it would appear Oshie fell short in O'Fallon's election, too. Oshie was asked before last night's 2-1 loss to the Vancouver Canucks in Game 1 of the Western Conference quarterfinals what he thought about his political career back in St. Louis:

"I haven't heard anything about (the election)," Oshie said. "I don't know how political I am, so I don't know how good I would be on making too many decisions. But I like the fan support."

With that, we begin the countdown to the Oshie 2012 political action committee. Thanks to Jeff and St. Louis Game Time for the tips.

No need to take it back. Just about everybody has said something stupid in here at one time or another. I don't think jigga is perfect, so he can go douche himself - he's the one who stinks. What is it they say? Everyone else's shit stinks except your own.

Also, jigga, lighten up............ you're not god.

Edit: and for all you other bandwagoners who jumped in............ fuck off!!:D
